Yesterday I suggested the Barr campaign utilize the footage of Bob Barr in the Borat movie in a commercial. I suppose I wasn’t completely joking because I put together a semi-rough cut of what I was talking about. Check it out below.

The Nader-Palin Debate – Is It Time for the Revolution to “Go Viral”?

Forget the VP Debate, it was for the birds! Besides the upcoming Break the Matrix Third Party Debate, you can have this debate right now! Let me show you with my Sarah Palin and Ralph Nader example. Plus an idea to change American politics for millions of young Americans with viral media.

<< For those unaware, please read George Dance’s critical article “Third-party debate in early October” on the upcoming Third Party Debate in early October. Date is not yet announced. >>

Fellow columnist Jonathan Cymberknopf reported in his late September article “Ralph Nader and Bob Barr banned from the media” that the media has stopped covering the Third Party tickets who have a mathematical chance to win, and this does indeed seem to be the case. These candidates in alphabetical order are:

He is mostly correct; the mainstream media is completely ignoring these candidates.  However, viral media has the potential to take the third party’s message to millions, spreading far TRUER democracy, and revealing the current election of McBama as the staged sham that it truly is.  The cool facet about it is that if it starts, its spreads like wildfire because everyone shares with everyone else.  On the flip side, there is only one month left, but with the financial world reeling, McBama-supported idiotic bailouts and bank failures galore, there is a real chance this could have a lasting effect on American politics for a long time to come, if it is done correctly.  Here is the idea.

Bob Barr Has A Television Commercial, No Not With Borat

October 3rd, 2008 4:46 pm  |  by  |  Published in Activism, Big Government, Bob Barr, Election, Humor, Libertarianism, Liberty, Maven Commentary, Media, Politics, Television, Video  |  1

The Barr campaign has produced its first television commercial. It is a decent introduction to the general principles of Bob Barr. Perhaps in a future commercial the Barr campaign can utilize his “interview” with Borat in some type of commercial, although it may be too offensive to some. They can use Borat as a metaphor for the status quo government we have today of saying one thing and doing another.

Ok, I’m kidding, but only partially. Perhaps, I’ll attempt to make the Barr-Borat commercial myself. In the meantime watch the actual campaign commercial below.

CNN Owes Ron Paul An Apology For Misquoting Him In Interview

Ron Paul appeared on CNN this afternoon to discuss the bailouts. The interviewer put up a quote attributing it to Ron Paul that was actually written by Lew Rockwell on his own site. The site the interviewer found the quote on was actually RonPaulForPresident2008.com, which is not Ron Paul’s site, but rather a very popular Ron Paul site run by a supporter (also listed in Liberty Maven’s blogroll). That site aggregates Ron Paul related news and posts it. In this case, the words quoted are from this post by Lew Rockwell on LewRockwell.com.

This is a great example of the media not doing their homework. It is not surprising. This reminds me of the myriad of interviews during Ron Paul’s presidential campaign where the interviewers marginalized Ron Paul, the man, and his opinions. Just when you think Ron Paul was starting to get some respect the media makes a feeble attempt to marginalize his opinion on the bailout. Neil Cavuto recently called Ron Paul a genius.

The Jekyll and Hyde media tramples onward and over the truth to manufacture a story out of thin air. CNN owes Ron Paul an apology. I wonder if he’ll get one? Watch the travesty below.

Newt Gingrich on The Bailout: “This is an appallingly bad plan.”

September 26th, 2008 10:27 am  |  by  |  Published in Bailouts, Banking, Big Government, Economics, Liberty, Media, Ron Paul, Video  |  0

Newt Gingrich has some pretty strong words for the Secretary of the Treasury, Wall Street, both mainstream Presidential candidates, and especially Congress.

Some of the highlights from Newt’s commentary:

  • “I think it will be an engine of corruption.”
  • “I think this is going to be a nightmare to implement and I believe it is about as bad as anything I’ve seen in economic policy…”
  • “This idea that we’re gonna buy the paper and some bureaucrat in Washington is gonna be responsible for $700 Billion in bad paper… I think is Socialism at it’s worst. I can’ imagine why this Administration is doing it. I think it is profoundly wrong, and I hope it is defeated if it comes to the Floor in this form.”
  • “Let’s start with putting under oath some of the members of Congress… I mean, Senator Dodd, who will presumably be helping write this bill, was the largest single recipient of money from both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac… Senator Obama was second… uh, Senator Clinton was the largest recipient from Lehman Brothers. Senator Obama was second. I think Congress ought to also be under investigation. If… if we’re gonna look at greed, let’s look at politicians, as well as the people who gave to them.”

And then, of course, I couldn’t help but chuckle as Hannity goes out of his way to talk over Newt and says, “I don’t wanna interrupt you, but…”

Hannity confirms his selective hearing with “Really? These are some of the most striking comments I’ve heard against this plan…” Well, that’s just great. Haven’t been listening much, have you? Ever hear of Ron Paul?
