Ron Paul and Nader appear on CNN “The Situation Room” [Video]

Ron Paul and Ralph Nader had a sit down today with Wolf Blitzer on CNN’s The Situation Room regarding Paul’s big announcement today. As Wolf Blitzer says some may say they “are the ultimate odd couple.” I agree. When one half of Nader’s policies are in direct conflict with the other half I’m not sure he is any better than John McCain or Barack Obama. Ron Paul focuses on the areas of agreement and pushes forward even at the risk of his own party shunning him even more than they already have. Perhaps he feels he has nothing to lose at this point. Watch them discuss it below.

Although Ron flounders a little at the end there, he pretty much sums it up in a way that I think a lot of us have never fully considered:  16% of the country votes for one candidate, and the rest of us, the true majority, are all left feeling like “the minority”.  Footage below, including what we can and need to do about it:

Ron Paul Interview By Tavis Smiley 09/03/2008 [Video]

Ron Paul sits down with Tavis Smiley for about 6 minutes the day after his Rally For The Republic. Smiley was the moderator of the PBS debate in Baltimore, MD during the primary campaign last year. Paul is asked if he had advice for McCain to attract the young people. Paul replies, “He’d have to change his philosophy”. We all know that isn’t going to happen. Check out the interview below.

Ron Paul on The Colbert Report Tonight 09/04/2008

September 4th, 2008 1:15 am  |  by  |  Published in Activism, campaign for liberty, Election, Liberty, Media, Politics, Ron Paul, Television  |  0

Ron Paul will make his second appearance on The Colbert Report this evening. The other guest is going to be Adam Brickley of the “Draft Sarah Palin For VP” blog. That is an interesting duo indeed. Of course they won’t appear together.

Hopefully, Colbert talks to Ron Paul more than a minute or two. I always find his interviews way too short. I expect I will be wanting more when it ends this time as well.

Tune in tonight at 11:30pm Eastern and see Ron Paul recruit more patriots to his Campaign For Liberty. Maybe he’ll tell a few jokes too.

The Colbert Show guest schedule is listed here.

Neil Cavuto Interviews Ron Paul At The Republican Convention

Neil Cavuto had a fantastic interview with Ron Paul today, in which they both discussed the election itself, as well as the policies and ideas of Ron Paul, and even the GOP’s utter shock when this “fringe” candidate ended up being a true force to contend with.

In at least two spots, Neil perfectly sums up the stance of Ron Paul and the Revolution, paraphrasing “Look, you guys [GOP, McCain, etc.] are the ones who abandoned the party, not me.  I’m going back to what our roots are.”

While Ron Paul is Muzzled, Carly Fiorina Takes the Podium To Speak About Absolutely Nothing

Although it’s only been a few short days since the announcement that Sarah Palin will be John McCain’s running-mate, those few days have been interesting ones, indeed. Regardless of your choice of party or candidate, Mrs. Palin’s candidacy has evoked strong responses across the board. And I am sure there is much more to come.

In an effort to respond to recent criticisms of Palin, and also draw sympathy from Democratic Hillary supporters, McCain promptly marched out his original choice for a Republican “answer to Hillary” herself, Carly Fiorina.

I am appalled by the Obama campaign’s attempts to belittle Governor Sarah Palin’s experience”, Carly Fiorina said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The facts are that Sarah Palin has made more executive decisions as a mayor and governor than Barack Obama has made in his life.”

Well, Carly, speaking of “executive decisions”, we need not mention that a string of successive and significantly devious executive decisions of your own directly lead to the downfall of several great companies, and the financial ruin of many American families.

Quite frankly, Carly, I, myself, am appalled that a “newly-decided” Republican, such as yourself, is allowed to speak at the RNC, while a true conservative and long-standing Republican, Ron Paul, has been repeatedly denied the opportunity to speak, and essentially banned from the Convention altogether (please see previous posts regarding both the Ron Paul Rally, as well as the mixed messages surrounding Ron Paul’s potential admission into the RNC via “escort only”.)

I am more than slightly concerned that a corrupt former executive is becoming a face for the Republican Party, while a phenomenally successful Presidential Candidate, one who preaches fiscal conservatism and responsibility; one who glistens with integrity and honor, is not only shut out by the media, but also by his own party.

As far as “Sarah Plain ‘N Tall” herself goes, don’t sweat it.  If it doesn’t even occur to The McCain Team to perform due diligence step number one, look for potential skeletons and scandals, then there isn’t really much hope that McCain could possibly be a good leader.

Here are some videos from Ron Paul’s “Rally For The Republic” from today. I watched the first 5 hours or so of the festivities and I thought the speaker’s were excellent. I’ll post more as I upload or find them. Here are a few: the introduction by Tucker Carlson, Doug Wead’s excellent speech, and Lew Rockwell’s anti-war, anti-state, pro-freedom speech.

CSPAN2 Will Cover Ron Paul’s Rally For The Republic

September 1st, 2008 11:27 pm  |  by  |  Published in Activism, campaign for liberty, Ron Paul, Television  |  1

It has been announced that CSPAN2 will cover the entire Rally For The Republic Ron Paul event being held tomorrow. It is unclear what the meaning of “cover” is in this case. I’m not sure that means they will be broadcasting the entire event, including the musical performances or not. In any case set your DVR’s, Tivo’s, VCR’s, and other miscellaneous recording devices to CSPAN2 and see what happens. Also, the Campaign For Liberty website is also going to be streaming the event live, so if CSPAN2 fails to provide comprehensive coverage there is another option, assuming the streaming feed is not inundated with too much traffic.

Here is the CSPAN2 coverage announcement from Ron Paul’s Campaign For Liberty blog.
