Ron Paul Again Pleads for Contributions to B.J. Lawson’s Money Bomb

Today is the day for the Money Bomb for Mr. “Ron Paul Junior” — as some have called B.J. Lawson.  Ron Paul send out this message today (following up on a previous message):

Friends,

During my presidential campaign, we set records and shocked the political establishment with “Money Bombs.” Individuals came together and pooled their contributions, large and small, to make a huge splash on one day. And, boy, did the Washington fat cats take notice!

Today, I am asking you to do the same for my friend B.J. Lawson. Will you make a contribution at www.lawsonforcongress.com?

I need B.J. in Congress with me to stand up for liberty and limited government, and against the Patriot Act and Wall Street bailouts.

B.J. Lawson is a terrific candidate, and will make a wonderful Congressman. But he needs your help, and time is urgent. Today marks the four week countdown to November’s election. The Lawson campaign needs money today to buy radio ads, TV commercials and mail to undecided voters. If we band together today, we can send B.J. Lawson to Congress.

Your generous contribution made at www.lawsonforcongress.com would be a tremendous gift for the cause of Liberty. Can you help today?

In Liberty,

Ron Paul

Ron Paul to Publicly Endorse Maryland Republican Congressional Candidates

October 6th, 2008 12:02 am  |  by  |  Published in Election, Fund Raising, Politics, Ron Paul, Ron Paul Republicans  |  0

On Thursday, October 9th at 6:30pm at the University of Maryland College Park’s Comcast Center, Ron Paul will be attending a rally and fundraiser to support Maryland’s Republican Congressional candidates, such as Collins Bailey (5th district), Mike Hargadon (7th district), Peter James (4th district), and Richard Matthews (MD-2).

“Our platform is popular and increasing in publicity every day. This event will be a large part of that,” said Matthews, who began airing “Shame on you” ads directed at incumbent Dutch Ruppersberger on WBAL last week. Matthews added, “Last week our campaign zinger ‘If you go Dutch, YOU PAY’ proved prophetic, with Ruppersberger voting yes on the bailout package twice. Flip flopping was not a problem for the incumbent, as he stood against the Maryland taxpayer but with Wall Street without equivocation.”

James, who had praised his opponent, Donna Edwards, for her initial opposition to the bailout, was disappointed by her capitulation later in the week. “There were a lot of people who worked very hard for her in the primary who were devastated by this vote. Some of them are beginning to give my campaign a look.”

Bailey’s approach has remained consistent throughout his campaign. “If you’re happy with how things are going in Washington,” says the 54-year-old businessman, “then vote for the other guy. If not, you may want to consider voting for me.” The “other guy” in the race happens to be House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, the longest-serving House member in Maryland history. But Bailey believes that Hoyer’s votes for unconstitutional bills like FISA and the bailout gives his campaign a boost, as Bailey has maintained his opposition to such legislation. “Congress must balance the budget without raising taxes,” said Bailey.

Hargadon’s campaign will join with Matthews in airing anti-bailout radio ads on WBAL this week. “My opponent, Elijah Cummings, can talk the talk with the best of them, but when it comes down to his vote, he sells out his constituents for special interests,” said Hargadon. “Actions speak louder than words, and my constituents will know I represent them by the votes I make.”

It’s Time To Help B.J. Lawson, Ron Paul Jr. Win

B.J. Lawson who some call “Ron Paul Jr.” is running for Congress in North Carolina’s 4th District. He is a strict Constitutionalist and he faces an uphill but certainly winnable battle against the Democratic incumbent. You may have read some of the ongoing interview with him we’ve posted. Perhaps you saw a video promoting his campaign at Ron Paul’s “Rally For The Republic”. Maybe you took notice when Ron Paul endorsed his candidacy. There’s even a chance you received a pocket Constitution from him at some point since he hands them out during campaign events.

In any case, William “B.J.” Lawson needs our support. Check out his comparison page with Democratic incumbent David Price and see if you can find $17.87 (or more) laying around under your couch cushions and send it to Lawson’s campaign on September 17th, 2008.

The day is Constitution Day, but it may as well be B.J. Lawson’s birthday since he vows to always consider the Constitution when voting for (or against) legislation once he takes office. That sounds familiar.

All of the hype surrounding the Presidential election these days makes us lose sight of the all too important Congressional races where Ron Paul Republicans are still out there fighting for liberty. B.J. Lawson is one of the good guys.

We strongly but respectfully request your participation in the latest money bomb for Lawson this Wednesday September 17th, 2008.

Footage of Ron Paul’s Major Announcement Today

Although Ron flounders a little at the end there, he pretty much sums it up in a way that I think a lot of us have never fully considered:  16% of the country votes for one candidate, and the rest of us, the true majority, are all left feeling like “the minority”.  Footage below, including what we can and need to do about it:

Ron Paul Rally For The Republic: Gary Johnson Speaks [Video]

Gary Johnson, the former Governor of New Mexico speaks about his own record at Ron Paul’s Rally For The Republic. If I had my pick for a Ron Paul Republican to run in 2012 Johnson is the guy. Jesse Ventura is a great choice, but he has too much “baggage” as I see it. Watch the video of Johnson below and see if you agree. It is in two parts.

While Ron Paul is Muzzled, Carly Fiorina Takes the Podium To Speak About Absolutely Nothing

September 3rd, 2008 12:30 am  |  by  |  Published in Activism, campaign for liberty, Clinton, Election, Individual Responsibility, John McCain, Liberty, Media, Money, Neo-con, Ron Paul, Ron Paul Republicans, Socialism, Television  |  0

Although it’s only been a few short days since the announcement that Sarah Palin will be John McCain’s running-mate, those few days have been interesting ones, indeed. Regardless of your choice of party or candidate, Mrs. Palin’s candidacy has evoked strong responses across the board. And I am sure there is much more to come.

In an effort to respond to recent criticisms of Palin, and also draw sympathy from Democratic Hillary supporters, McCain promptly marched out his original choice for a Republican “answer to Hillary” herself, Carly Fiorina.

I am appalled by the Obama campaign’s attempts to belittle Governor Sarah Palin’s experience”, Carly Fiorina said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The facts are that Sarah Palin has made more executive decisions as a mayor and governor than Barack Obama has made in his life.”

Well, Carly, speaking of “executive decisions”, we need not mention that a string of successive and significantly devious executive decisions of your own directly lead to the downfall of several great companies, and the financial ruin of many American families.

Quite frankly, Carly, I, myself, am appalled that a “newly-decided” Republican, such as yourself, is allowed to speak at the RNC, while a true conservative and long-standing Republican, Ron Paul, has been repeatedly denied the opportunity to speak, and essentially banned from the Convention altogether (please see previous posts regarding both the Ron Paul Rally, as well as the mixed messages surrounding Ron Paul’s potential admission into the RNC via “escort only”.)

I am more than slightly concerned that a corrupt former executive is becoming a face for the Republican Party, while a phenomenally successful Presidential Candidate, one who preaches fiscal conservatism and responsibility; one who glistens with integrity and honor, is not only shut out by the media, but also by his own party.

As far as “Sarah Plain ‘N Tall” herself goes, don’t sweat it.  If it doesn’t even occur to The McCain Team to perform due diligence step number one, look for potential skeletons and scandals, then there isn’t really much hope that McCain could possibly be a good leader.

Jesse Ventura riled up the Ron Paul Patriots at the Rally For The Republic with his promise that if he sees action, not just words he will run in 2012. His speech is in 3 parts. His promise is in part 3.

Ron Paul, Barr, Baldwin: Three Amigos In Liberty

Much speculation has occurred about who Ron Paul will endorse following the Republican Convention and his Rally For The Republic. Perhaps just as much speculation has occurred about whether he will endorse anyone at all. If he were to endorse a candidate, the two names that have the most potential are Libertarian candidate Bob Barr and Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin. However, it’s high time to realize that Ron Paul’s endorsement isn’t the be all and end all. Let’s take a look at some other candidates that Congressman Ron Paul has endorsed already.

Sifting through the list of endorsed candidates from Ron Paul’s Liberty PAC web site reveals that Paul is no liberty purist like so many of his supporters. To me, this shows Paul does compromise and play politics to further the larger goal rather than focus on specific issues of fundamental disagreement. The fact that he endorses sending money to Paul Broun, an Iraq war and surge supporting Congressman from Georgia demonstrates this. It gets worse, much worse.

Another innovative method to raise money and get the word out about freedom minded Congressional candidates has arrived. The Liberty Straw Poll has been introduced by the people who run Ron Paul Forums. They’ve enlisted the assistance of forum members and great organizations like freeople.com and breakthematrix.com. From the event site:

Raising money these days is a difficult thing unless your last name is Obama. The Liberty Straw Poll is a wonderful idea becoming a reality thanks to the still active grassroots supporters of Ron Paul.

No matter if you are a Republican, Libertarian, Democrat, Green, or Independent, above all you are an American. America was built on the foundation of liberty. Help keep it alive by participating in events like these. Get your tickets now.
