Earlier today Judge Andrew Napolitano was the guest host on the Glenn Beck show. Four liberty-loving guests appeared on the show with the Judge. Peter Schiff, John Stossel, Ron Paul, and Rand Paul all appeared. When the Judge hosts Beck’s show it almost turns into an episode of Freedom Watch.
If you don’t know what Freedom Watch is then please check out http://freedomwatchonfox.com/. It’s an online only show hosted by the Judge catering to freedom-loving people everywhere.
Check out the excellent discussions from the show today below.
Republicans displaying their “Red State pride” following the results of Tuesday’s elections need to face reality. The two GOP gubernatorial election victories in Virginia and New Jersey were unsurprising and expected. Now if a true limited government conservative beat out Bloomberg in the New York mayoral race there would be a reason for celebration.
The reason Bob McDonnell beat out Creigh Deeds in Virginia was not because McDonnell represents some new style small government Republican. McDonnell won because Deeds made campaign mistakes. McDonnell made none. Deeds lost the race more than McDonnell won it.
The same is true for the New Jersey race. Corzine, a former chairman at Goldman Sachs, easily became a scapegoat for a failing economy and political corruption. So, he lost.
What Tuesday’s election results really demonstrated was a lack of conviction for either Democrats or Republicans. When the political spectrum shines red, then blue, then red, then blue, over and over again something tangible comes to light:
America is not rooting for either party to win. America is rooting for the underdog.
A new poll was released today for the Kentucky primary election in Kentucky next May. The results show Rand Paul now leading Grayson by 3%. He made up 9 points and his opponent Grayson dropped 5 points since the last poll.
This is wonderful news and hopefully will fuel the fire so that Rand can end up with an easy victory in May. Keep on fighting!
The neo-conservative principles found in much of today’s establishment Republican Party are purely Machiavellian. They will lie, cheat, and steal to maintain power or stomp on anyone in their path. This has me concerned about the Rand Paul vs. Trey Grayson Kentucky GOP primary. The war of words are beginning to fly between the candidates. A potential larger problem is brewing though that has little to do with the campaign. It has to to with the election itself.
No, I’m not talking about the voting machines. What I’m talking about is this:
This is what we find at the top of Kentucky’s State Board Of Elections web site. Rand Paul’s opponent in the primary is the Chairman of the Board of Elections. I’m not familiar with Kentucky law, but I can only assume that this position is automatically filled by the Secretary of State.
Trey Grayson is Kentucky’s Secretary of State.
By pointing this out I’m not suggesting that Grayson will commit some kind of voter fraud and “adjust” the election result numbers to his own benefit. In fact, I doubt he could get away with it. What I am suggesting is that if Grayson ends up winning by a small margin things could get quite ugly. Accusations from the more “vocal” Ron Paul / Rand Paul supporters would likely follow, perhaps even a lawsuit or two.
Ron Paul and his son Rand Paul appeared on Neil Cavuto’s Fox Business channel show earlier today.
Among other things Rand Paul seems to take responsibility for helping to grow the “freedom movement”. Cavuto, in the end, gets away with calling the Paul family “cheap”, but it was all in good fun. Watch below.
In one corner we have a man that has lived his life inside politics. He has been campaigning for his chance at a Senate seat for several years. The stodgy big government Republicans have anointed him the chosen one. In the other corner is the energetic and principled outsider who is standing up to fight because he can’t take it anymore. The downward spiral of today’s America pried him away from his “normal” life to serve the cause of liberty and limited government.
It is Trey Grayson vs. Rand Paul in the event known as the KentuckyFight. It’s not a battle of fists, but a battle of funds. Sure, Rand is Ron Paul’s son, but when was the last time Ron Paul was labeled an insider by anyone?
The event was spawned due to the anger many felt toward Grayson for allowing his fellow Republican insiders to hold a $500/person fund raiser in Washington DC. The act of fund raising isn’t the problem. The problem is that Rand Paul is a Republican too and many of the incumbent Senators attending the Grayson fund raiser voted for last fall’s bailout. This reinforces the notion that Grayson has no intention of being fiscally conservative with our tax money.
So, the grassroots supporters of Paul decided to hold a brilliant fund raiser of their own. It’s another money bomb in an effort to raise more money than Grayson raises at his “i’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” fund raiser. Ron Paul’s supporters are fully backing his son. Given this it is not a question of if the money bomb will raise more than Grayson, but by how much.
Beginning at midnight tonight and ending at midnight tomorrow night, September 23rd, please donate to Rand Paul and send a message to Grayson and his political elitist friends. Let them know that small government is not just rhetoric. It is a philosophy that we demand of our elected officials.
Rand Paul appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” this morning to discuss his race for Senate in Kentucky. Once again he shows that he is a “force to be reckoned with” for Trey Grayson, his GOP primary opponent.
Rand Paul appeared for a 30 minute call-in segment on CSPAN’s Washington Journal this morning. Many topics were discussed. Check it out below in the 3 part playlist.
With Ron Paul many of the attacks were leveled by the media itself. We even published a rather popular satire piece during the campaign called “The Official Media Guide To Attacking Ron Paul“.
Thus far with Rand Paul, most of the attacks are coming from the Left and the neo-conservative establishment friends of his Republican primary opponent Trey Grayson. The attacks themselves are quite typical.
The Left enjoys pointing out that white supremacist organizations have noticed Rand Paul’s campaign and support him. They like to point out that such extreme groups and individuals supporting Paul means that Paul himself somehow condones such beliefs. This is ludicrous. Guilt by association attacks are for the feeble-minded. No one, not even the Left’s Messiah Obama can control who chooses to support him.
Extremists like Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan both support Obama, but I don’t attack Obama because of it. Even though a much stronger case could be made for doing so due to the fact that Wright was Obama’s pastor and mentor for 20 years or so.
Believing in individual liberty and white supremacy are impossible bedfellows. Attacking Rand Paul this way tells us more about the attacker than the attacked.
The attacks from his own party are right out of the political attack playbook. What makes it humorous this time is that the charges against Rand Paul suggesting he isn’t a “real Republican” could be more easily made against his opponent. Trey Grayson used to be a Democrat and campaigned for Bill Clinton in the 90’s. At that time Rand Paul was busy founding an anti-tax group in Kentucky.
Long live the liberty revolution! Yesterday, which ended a few minutes ago saw Rand Paul raise $433,509.00in a single day for his run for U.S. Senate to represent Kentucky.
This is HUGE! Trey Grayson should be worried. This gives his campaign a total of over $667k, about two-thirds of which was raised in the last 24 hours. The current total can always be seen at RandPaul2010.com.
Hopefully this fund raising success receives some publicity both in Kentucky and nationally.
Congratulations Rand on a successful money bomb on your father’s birthday!
