Ron Paul is on fire. That is my opinion of his performance in this first GOP debate. Of course, I’m biased. Feel free to make your own judgement after watching the entire debate below. There were a few stellar moments from Ron Paul, including his answer when asked about legalizing drugs, and his answer about being the “Founding Father” of the Tea Party movement regarding Michele Bachmann.

I don’t agree with a lot of what Herman Cain says, but I have to admit he has charisma that will give him a lot of support. Expect the other candidates to start attacking him if his poll numbers go up. I think they will.

Gary Johnson did very well with a few odd moments. If I’m looking at him through social-con or neo-con eyes voting for him would likely be impossible. He did come off as a very honest “make the hard choices” candidate. Sort of like Cain without the charisma.

Pawlenty seems to be channeling John McCain a bit too much and Santorum just comes off as angry. Both seem to be going after the George W. Bush voting block; however small that is these days.

Enjoy the entire debate below.

Keeping up with the Pauls, Ron and Rand

Ron Paul officially announced the formation of his exploratory committee today so it was a big news day for the Pauls. Senator Rand Paul appeared on CNN and effectively painted Donald Trump as a liberal sympathizer evidenced by his historical donations to Democrats.

In the morning, Ron Paul appeared on Fox and Friends:

Then Ron Paul appeared on MSNBC with Eliot Spitzer:

And Paul then appeared within the friendly confines of Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano:

Here is the previously promised Colbert appearance:

And finally, look for Ron Paul on John Stossel’s show Stossel on Fox Business on Thursday night.

Ron Paul 2012 Media Day: The View, Hannity, and Colbert

This morning on The View Ron Paul remained coy about whether or not he was running for president in 2012. The View’s studio audience seemed unsure how to act when listening to the cold hard truth emanating from Ron Paul’s liberty-loving lips. They clapped and Whoopie Goldberg seemed perturbed. Watch it below.

Ron Paul’s nighttime appearance on Hannity was a bit predictably contentious but by that time the news was out: Ron Paul is going to form an exploratory committee for POTUS 2012. Here is that appearance:

So Ron Paul 2012 is now a reality, but Paul was not finished. He then appeared on The Colbert Report. Stay tuned for that video once it is available.

Ron Paul 2012 begins… warm up the blimp!

Ron Paul will appear on The View, Hannity, and The Colbert Report tomorrow under the guise of promoting his new excellent treatise on liberty called, “Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom“; however, will he also officially announce his run for president?

If he wants to participate in the first debate scheduled for May 5th he must meet certain criteria by April 29th. It doesn’t take an expert to know that one of the first criteria is actually becoming a candidate. Jesse Benton has stated that Paul will meet the criteria to participate so that is certainly an indirect admission that the announcement will be forthcoming

So will Ronald Ernest Paul announce his official bid for 2012 on Monday? We’ll know for sure very soon.

May my fellow Paulites grow the grassroots of liberty in 2012 far beyond the inherent limitations of 2008.

Ron Paul’s Brain on Foreign Policy

Ron Paul appeared on Canadian TV’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin to answer some very thoughtful questions regarding American foreign policy. Yet another excellent testament to Paul’s consistency and integrity when it comes to non-interventionism. He also discusses one of his favorite topics, the Federal Reserve.

Ron Paul on fire against Hillary Clinton

March 1st, 2011 10:17 pm  |  by  |  Published in Blowback, foreign aid, Foreign Policy, Liberty, Maven Commentary, Rand Paul, Ron Paul  |  18 Responses

Earlier today, Ron Paul used his five minutes of questioning to ask Hillary Clinton why we prop up dictators. Clinton’s answer seemed a bit similar to David Letterman’s response to Ron Paul’s son when Rand Paul appeared on Letterman’s show.

Letterman, basically said what Rand was saying didn’t sound right, but he didn’t know why. Hillary’s response to the elder Paul was more or less “sometimes we get it right and sometimes we don’t”. That is another non-answer, but that’s why they are called politicians I suppose. Check out the exchange below.

Rand Paul puts liberty back in the Tea Party

About half-way through Rand Paul’s new book, “The Tea Party Goes to Washington“, makes me realize that he is trying to really put liberty back into the Tea Party as it was meant to be from the beginning. Making the media rounds yesterday and today, he is spreading that sweet message of freedom like his father. He is scheduled to be on Late Night with David Letterman tonight as well as Hannity’s TV show. Yesterday he was on ABC’s Good Morning America, Nightline, and Hannity’s radio show.

Here is his GMA appearance:

Here is his interview with Hannity on the radio:

Go, Rand, go.

Freedom is still popular! Another Ron Paul money bomb success story

February 22nd, 2011 1:09 am  |  by  |  Published in Activism, Election, Fund Raising, Politics, Ron Paul  |  1

Yes, apparently freedom is still quite popular. Ron Paul’s pre-2012 candidacy money bomb was a huge success. Paul requested supporters fill up the coffers of his Liberty PAC and they did so in earnest. Paul’s PAC is now over $700 thousand richer, setting the stage for his eventual 2012 candidacy.

See the Liberty PAC website for the latest amount.
