Ron Paul: Politicians are weak, Rand Paul: Watch out!

The liberty-loving father and son Ron Paul and Rand Paul were featured in a report on KHOU TV in Houston Texas. The report was a borderline campaign commercial for both men. Ron Paul has yet to announce his intentions for 2012, but Rand is on the brink of becoming the next U.S. Senator from Kentucky if recent polls hold through November.

Watch the report below and be sure to pledge for Rand’s next money bomb at ISupportRandPaul.com.

Justin Amash Money Bomb Today

July 8th, 2010 1:45 pm  |  by  |  Published in congress, Economics, Election, Free Market, Fund Raising, Liberty, People, Politics, REAL ID, Ron Paul  |  2 Responses

Today presents a fantastic fundraising opportunity for the Liberty movement. Justin Amash, who recently won the endorsement of the Club for Growth, is described by the press as being a serious contender in a two-way race. Amash’s status as a viable candidate is bolstered by recent attacks in the established media against his campaign.

For those who are interested in donating to Amash, a popular message circulating the internet has been posted below. It outlines over 20 reasons as to why one should donate to this campaign.

1 – Ron Paul has endorsed Amash, calling him “one of the most principled young leaders I have seen in a generation.”
2 – Justin Amash supported Ron Paul in 2008, donating over $1000 to his campaign.
3 – Amash has a great chance of winning, with the Grand Rapids Press calling the primary a “two-man race.” With no incumbent and a conservative district, winning the primary virtually guarantees his election.
4 – The big-government GOP establishment is supporting his opponent.
5 – He’s the only legislator to post all of his votes on Facebook in real-time! If you don’t think he’s a true defender of liberty, just see for yourself!

Tomorrow’s to-do list: Donate to Rand Paul, Buy “Nullification”

June 27th, 2010 7:05 pm  |  by  |  Published in Activism, Commentary, Constitution, Election, fascism, Fund Raising, Individual Responsibility, Liberty, Maven Commentary, Philosophy, Rand Paul, Socialism, states rights, Thomas Woods  |  1

Tomorrow is June 28th and there are two events every liberty-lover should be participating in.

First up, is the first money bomb for Rand Paul’s General election campaign. Pledge here and donate tomorrow (or beginning at midnight tonight) here. He’s going to need a significant amount of money to defend the attacks that are now coming at him from national progressives and Obamatons.

Next, it is the official release day for Tom Woods’ latest and perhaps greatest book entitled, “Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century“. I consider his previous book “Meltdown” one of the best economics books I’ve ever read. Given Woods’ track record his new book will be mind-opening to those willing to give it a read. The book and Tom were recently featured on Glenn Beck’s TV show about Hayek’s “The Road to Serfdom” (see the video below).

So that’s my To-Do list for Monday, June 28th, 2010. I hope it is yours as well.

The Anti-Politician

June 3rd, 2010 9:57 am  |  by  |  Published in Activism, congress, Election, Fund Raising, Jake Towne, Liberty, Politics  |  1

Ron Paul has inspired so many to take the leap into politics. Jake Towne is one of the inspired. Jake has been providing insight through his writing here at Liberty Maven for longer than he’s been a candidate for U.S. Congress. In an era when “politician” is the dirtiest word in the English language Jake stands out as an anti-politician politician. Through his writing and speaking you can feel and see his supreme dedication to liberty.

He’s running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 15th district. His “open office” idea is one that every single lawmaker should adopt. He errs on the side of freedom on every issue and he deserves every liberty-lover’s support.

Check out his excellent newly re-designed Towne for Congress web site and consider supporting him with a donation.

Ron Paul Jr., BJ Lawson is back

March 30th, 2010 6:13 am  |  by  |  Published in Activism, BJ Lawson, Commentary, congress, Constitution, Election, Fund Raising, Individual Responsibility, Liberty  |  4 Responses

BJ Lawson ran for Congress for North Carolina’s 4th district back in 2008. In February he announced he is seeking the same seat again in 2010. First, is the primary on May 4th which he won rather handily last time around. As the newcomer nominee of the Republican party in 2008 he garnered 37% of the vote in a predominately Democratic district.

After Scott Brown’s big win in Massachusetts anything can happen this time around. Back in 2008 Liberty Maven did a two part interview with Lawson that can be viewed here.

Lawson is called “Ron Paul Jr.” by many due to his credentials as a doctor and a steadfast supporter of the Constitution. Ron Paul even campaigned for him and had the following to say:

A lot of folks have begun calling B.J. Lawson the next Ron Paul. The comparison is very flattering. . . for me.

We highly encourage everyone to spread the word about Lawson’s upcoming money bomb on April 13th, 2010. Judge Andrew Napolitano calls Ron Paul the “Thomas Jefferson of our day”. If BJ Lawson is “Ron Paul Jr.” then the money bomb theme is rather appropriate.

Please visit http://thenextjefferson.com/ and pledge your support for another defender of liberty and the Constitution, BJ Lawson.

Who is this Rand Paul guy?

March 23rd, 2010 12:09 pm  |  by  |  Published in Activism, Big Government, Commentary, Constitution, Election, Fund Raising, Individual Responsibility, Liberty, Rand Paul  |  3 Responses

Rand Paul is your next U.S. Senator from Kentucky, if the trend continues. He’s also a true limited government Constitutionalist Republican. Check out his interview recorded yesterday with Judge Napolitano on Freedom Watch:

Yes, Rand is leading in all the polls right now, but he needs more campaign donations to push him toward victory. As luck would have it there is a money bomb going on today to help him reach this goal. Donating to Rand Paul is like putting your money behind the U.S. Constitution. As recent events in DC have shown, representatives like Rand are sorely needed.

Please help him toward victory by donating at http://randpaul2010.com/ right now.

The campaign has set a goal of $300k for the day. As of this writing (1pm Eastern) the total is nearly $143k according to http://randpaulgraphs.com/.

Rand Paul has “it” but hasn’t won anything yet

March 8th, 2010 8:30 am  |  by  |  Published in Activism, Commentary, Election, Fund Raising, Liberty, Maven Commentary, Politics, Polling, Rand Paul, Ron Paul Republicans  |  0

As many Liberty Maven readers are aware we endorsed Rand Paul last summer following our interview with him. At the time he was behind in the polls by 11% points in the Kentucky GOP primary. On Sunday the latest poll shows him leading his Republican opponent Trey Grayson by 15% points.

This is uncomfortable territory for those of us who are used to being the underdogs. Rand Paul has the best chance of any liberty candidate at winning, but a 15% lead does not mean victory is assured.

Towne for Congress Issues the $20,000 Money Bomb Week Challenge

February 8th, 2010 11:09 pm  |  by  |  Published in congress, Election, Fund Raising, Jake Towne, Liberty, Politics  |  5 Responses

“With the Democrats in charge, man exploits man. When the Republicans are in charge, it’s the opposite.” - seen on a local bumper sticker

The campaign is in serious need of funds to enable us to spread the message, and I have a challenge for supporters. If supporters raise $20,000 or more between Valentine’s Day (it’s a rEVOLution, after all!!) and February 20, I will donate an additional $5,000 of my own money. This is a significant amount for me personally, and is not a candidate loan but a donation. The challenge is if campaign supporters and donors are willing to make a significant contribution towards saving our country, I will do so with my wallet as well as with my time. During the week, grassroot supporters are holding two money bombs, and totals from both these will count towards the weekly total. Updates on the totals will befound here on February 15, and in the comment thread below.

Through December 31, 2009, 387 donors have raised $16,400 for the campaign, including over $2,000 from myself. As a small independent campaign, we do not have a fundraising coordinator, so all funds raised has come from grassroot supporters in the district and nationwide. The median donation is about $25, so no donation is too small.

Why Rand Paul Will Win

December 14th, 2009 8:00 am  |  by  |  Published in Activism, Commentary, Election, Fund Raising, Liberty, Maven Commentary, Rand Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul Republicans  |  13 Responses

Ron Paul’s son Rand Paul will be the next U.S. Senator from Kentucky once the 2010 elections are over. My confidence in this outcome is inversely proportional to the confidence I had that Ron Paul would become our next President in 2008. I certainly had hope for the elder Paul, but political reality has a way of usurping hope. When it comes to Rand Paul in 2010, I am both politically confident and supremely hopeful.

There are three main reasons to feel this way about Rand Paul’s prospects: public sentiment, fund raising, and the “it” factor.

The Principled Outsider vs. The Status Quo Insider: Rand vs. Trey

September 22nd, 2009 9:46 pm  |  by  |  Published in Activism, Commentary, Fund Raising, Liberty, Maven Commentary, Rand Paul, Ron Paul  |  1

In one corner we have a man that has lived his life inside politics. He has been campaigning for his chance at a Senate seat for several years. The stodgy big government Republicans have anointed him the chosen one. In the other corner is the energetic and principled outsider who is standing up to fight because he can’t take it anymore. The downward spiral of today’s America pried him away from his “normal” life to serve the cause of liberty and limited government.

It is Trey Grayson vs. Rand Paul in the event known as the KentuckyFight. It’s not a battle of fists, but a battle of funds. Sure, Rand is Ron Paul’s son, but when was the last time Ron Paul was labeled an insider by anyone?

The event was spawned due to the anger many felt toward Grayson for allowing his fellow Republican insiders to hold a $500/person fund raiser in Washington DC. The act of fund raising isn’t the problem. The problem is that Rand Paul is a Republican too and many of the incumbent Senators attending the Grayson fund raiser voted for last fall’s bailout. This reinforces the notion that Grayson has no intention of being fiscally conservative with our tax money.

So, the grassroots supporters of Paul decided to hold a brilliant fund raiser of their own. It’s another money bomb in an effort to raise more money than Grayson raises at his “i’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine” fund raiser. Ron Paul’s supporters are fully backing his son. Given this it is not a question of if the money bomb will raise more than Grayson, but by how much.

Beginning at midnight tonight and ending at midnight tomorrow night, September 23rd, please donate to Rand Paul and send a message to Grayson and his political elitist friends. Let them know that small government is not just rhetoric. It is a philosophy that we demand of our elected officials.
