Ron Paul gets real on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow show

Ron Paul appeared on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow earlier tonight. They discussed the Lindsey Graham censure, Tea Party movement, and partisan politics.
Ron Paul took the high road (as usual) and was an equal opportunity attacker. It certainly was one of his better appearances. He even seemed “Presidential” in a “I’m a uniter, not a divider” kind of way. It is appearances like this that truly demonstrate Paul’s convictions and integrity.

It's a shame Ron Paul wasn't given the respect he deserved in the campaign or we might have a real statesman in the white house. The pot is boiling but they just keep putting the lid on it and you know what happens then. Go Ron and Rand!!

I really liked this interview. I don't watch Rachel Maddow much, but I can assure you I am more in line with her politics. But I saw something here, Progs and Tea Partiers have more in common and more to gain being civil with each other than they do with their respective "parties". Neither have a whole lot of traction within their parties. Progressives keep being pulled to the center by election and consensus conscious establishment dems. Tea partiers have a better chance at taking over the republican party due mostly to that party's weakness. I'll admit, I was a bit harsh on Ron Paul during the campaign. If only Progressives and Libertarians could come up with a compromise agenda, that would be a strong contender as a third party.

I don't see how this is really possible in the large scale. Progressive is just another name for big government socialist. They have nothing in common with Libertarians and the Tea Partiers, IMO. Tea Partiers are made up of Libertarians, Conservatives who don't know their neo-cons, and Flat out Neo-Cons who are upset at big government but love imperialism. I believe our best hope for a constitutional government is to educate today's conservatives about foreign policy & the FED, and turn them into libertarians.
Progressives (Liberal Socialists) are a lost cause in my opinion. They have already proven to be Marxists and Imperialists, at least today's conservatives are only Imperialists. – JMHO

Maddow is a shrill. Did you catch at the beginning that she threw everyone in the tea party group into the can? "The illiterate, racist led tea party"
You're not winning any hearts or minds Rachel. And that kind of name calling just shows your slant and pathetic ignorance.

We crossed the Rubicon decades ago and became a socialist country with a big fat government. It's been that way since I can remember. You can try to tear it down, but I think its too late myself. Ron Paul is fighting the good fight. I think that these wars we are having now are getting close to being the last hurrah for the US. Too much money spent on warfare for as long as I can remember without paying for it seems to me to be the main problem. Training our best and brightest for War, allows less than the best and brightest to rule and make bad decisions. Lack of universal health care as in other countries is the reason I am looking to be an ex-patriot. You see at this point, our government has neglected the loss of our industries for sooo long, big industry has pretty much dried up in the US, so I have to look for work outside the US. The US is still has one of the best agricultural producers — because of good land and water. 96 percent of new jobs projected as coming on line and needing people in the US in the next decade are LOW paying jobs. People coming out of college are already feeling that they overpaid on their education. Over the next decade, I expect more and angrier people who feel that they have been cheated by the "SYSTEM". Basic housing, medical care and moving up the ladder of needs for every American should remain the goal for everyone together.

The leftist urge to play the race card is darn near a reflex. I don't think those who use the race card such as Maddow can be cured.

The term progressive and the term conservative both mean what people want it to mean.

David, did you know that in September of the 2008 Presidential campaign, Ron Paul got Ralph Nader, Cynthia McKinney, and Chuck Baldwin together, and they all agreed on an antiwar, anti-Federal Reserve, pro-civil liberties platform!

It might come as a surprise to you, but the youtube video "beginning" is not the beginning of Maddow's comments. If either of you had bothered to find & watch the lead-in, you would know what buffoons you have made of yourselves.
I'd post the link to it, but frankly if you're too lazy to do a youtube video search & get informed before jumping to conclusions, then making it easier for you isn't going to do any good.
I don't personally care if you choose to be biased and ignorant or not. I'm just letting you know that your ass is hanging out as a courtesy.

Pay attention she said "The illiterate, racist led teaparty.org declaring war on the Republican party" referring to Dale Robertson the guy operates teaparty.org and carried a sign that read “Congress = Slaveowner, Taxpayer = Nigg*r.”
Racist? I think so…illiterate? Not sure supposedly the guy has two degrees… A$$hole? Yeah.
You should watch the beginning again.

Why does America only have the same two parties in power? Is there a reason for this?

Here's another person who does not understand what 'Socialism' means. There is certainly collusion, graft & undue influence amongst the big business, industries, and government, but our government does not own the principal means of production (maybe if they did we wouldn't be so broke!)

wrong. she specifically called teaparty.org "illiterate racist-led". That is becuase that particular group is led by an illterate racist, Dale Robertson.

While it's true we do not have pure socialism, the road we've been taking can certainly be said to be heading in that general direction. What we have now is much closer to Fascism than it is to Socialism.
That being said, I vehemently disagree that "maybe we wouldn't be so broke" if the government owns the principle means of production. There's ample evidence that the government cannot run anything well. In fact the only thing politicians are good at is getting re-elected, and growing their power.
