Ron Paul introduces substitute for the HR.1207 “gutting” Watt Amendment

Ron Paul introduced a substitute amendment to replace Mel Watt’s amendment that would have “gutted” HR.1207’s intent. Dr. Paul’s substitute was later passed by the committee over the ‘nay’ votes of both Barney Frank and Mel Watt. It was passed by voice vote. The roll call vote is scheduled for this afternoon.
This was an important step in the process, but the amendment is going to be tacked on to the larger regulatory reform bill being deliberated now.
Watch Ron Paul introduce the bill earlier today in the committee in the video below.

Whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends [life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness], it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government. – Declaration of Independence
All experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. – Declaration of Independence

Kudos to the committee members who are providing the House with the bill as introduced. To have done otherwise would have been a collective cowardly act.

It is a great day for liberty. The fed is a Constitutional abomination. I am sure many people will be placing comments here that salute the actions taken today and I concur. We all should applaud Congressman Paul for his persistence and courage. However, I also want to single out Congressman Alan Grayson for his support. Without him, I doubt the ammendment would have been adopted. No matter his positions on other issues, I am personally very grateful.

Barney Frank is a snake. He pretends to support a real audit and then gets bought off. He's a POS, whose Boyfriend was literally the head of Fannie Mae. He voted against it after all this time… big surprise. Go Ron Paul, and go Alan Grayson!
