Rand Paul’s opponent, Trey Grayson, channels Lindsey Graham

Kentucky Republicans should be asking themselves if they want another Lindsey Graham who compromises and capitulates to the Left in the name of big government bipartisanship or if they’d like a true conservative Senator who will fight for low taxes and free markets? It’s still quite early but judging from recent comments it seems Trey Grayson is sounding more and more like Graham and Rand Paul is sounding more and more like a Republican.
A few weeks ago at a Town Hall meeting Lindsey Graham argued that he would not let Ron Paul hijack the Republican Party. Grayson seems to be taking lessons from Graham. Watch Grayson in the interview below from WHAS11 as he smugly dismisses Paul while labeling him “crazy”. Hmmm… where have we heard that tactic before?
As the news report mentions, it appears there is the potential for another establishment Republican to enter the race. That would certainly shake up the race, but I’m not sure it would be a bad thing for Paul’s chances.

Its just very difficult to believe people support this kind of arrogance, former Democrat Greyson is really no match for a candidate with the integrity of Rand Paul.

I saw that too. Rand mentioned something about a letter going to the Republican Party County Chairs telling them Rand Paul isn't welcome in the party too. So Trey Grayson's even trying to oust Rand just like Graham's trying to oust Ron.

LOL! I wonder how well this tactic will work given Rand is leading in polls and funding. It is one thing to try to get away with it when the target audience doesn't know the person and looks at 8% polls. When someone who is behind says this about someone who is ahead, it sounds a bit like sour grapes, don't you think?
I loved Rand's response to McConnell choosing to endorse Grayson: " After the primary, I will want to work with Senator McConnell. We will need each other. He and I agree on many issues such as the unconstitutionality of McCain-Feingold.
Until then, it would be unfair of me to to ask Grayson to compete on his own merits, all by himself. I think the only way we can be evenly matched is for him to have significant help from DC insiders, PACs, and special interest money.
Even then, it will likely not be enough. 2010 will be the year of the outsider. The Tea Party movement wants reform of government and they are embracing our message of Term Limits, Balanced Budgets, and the Read the Bills Act. "

I am a former Democrat, why is my or Mr. Greyson's prior political affiliation relevant? Being a Democrat or a Republican or a Libertarian for that matter doesn't automatically mean anything.

Linsey Graham and Grayson are "nuts". Rand is a true "conservative".

Y'know, I think Trey is close to tears in this interview. He feels betrayed by the voters and is afraid Paul will humiliate him, insider support notwithstanding.

This guy is a fraud! He pretends to be a conservative – but he votes along with the Democrats on every issue that matters. Sure he talks tough but in the end he caves and compromises. We need leaders that stick to their guns. This is the same sort of fellow that got us into this mess in the first place. Doesn’t he get it! We want real change here in Kentucky. Plus how can you not vote for Rand – the man has incredible wit -When told that he wasn’t a true blue Kentuckian he replied “I have been a Kentuckian longer than he has been a Republican” (Wow what a slam). If you ask me that trait goes nicely with impeccable integrity.

Nothing new in their attacks, they are very transparent…they cannot fight truth
"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." — Mahatma Gandhi
they have been on the ridicule meme for quite some time and only the truth shall set us free, we are at war with our own government

Rand is made in his father's image. Enough said. I am supporting his candidacy with my wallet and hope others will as well. This country needs to put in office at every level those who will keep their promise to defend the Constitution.
