Ron Paul gets his hearing on Fed Audit , Friday Morning

On Friday, September 25th the House Financial Services Committee has scheduled a full committee hearing on Ron Paul’s HR.1207 to audit the Federal Reserve. The hearing is slated to begin at 9am eastern time. For details and a link to the (eventual) live streaming video of the hearing check out the committee website.
As with many of these committee hearings the schedule is tentative and right now there are no witnesses listed.
By now we know what the opponents of the bill will argue, but it doesn’t change the fact that the bill has over 290 bipartisan cosponsors and 75% of the American people want a Fed audit.
The conditions are ripe for passing some form of Federal Reserve audit. Rahm Emanuel has been criticized for not wanting to allow our economic “crisis to go to waste”. In turn, Obama has largely been capitalizing on his honeymoon in popularity coupled with the economic crisis to push his agenda through Congress. The health care debate has stifled that strategy for now.
Without the economic crisis I doubt Ron Paul’s Fed audit bill would have more than 290 cosponsors. So, in a way, Ron Paul is not letting this crisis go to waste either. It is a perfect bill for the America we live in today.
It is Ron Paul’s job to convince others that his bill would not allow Congress to interfere with monetary policy. This is the lone argument against his bill and it’s quite a weak argument.
Friday’s hearings mark a major battle in the long term effort to “End the Fed“.

In a a sense, this is a win -win for liberty, though the second win might not seem as apparent. Of course, if the audit goes through, light will be shown on many wicked things and many eyes will be opened that are willing to see. On the other hand, with such huge support for an audit, if the G-men somehow manipulate there way out of it, it will be one of the clearest examples of our government going against the clear will of the people, and this at a time in history when support for the current system, the two-parties, is at a comparable low.
I have recently written about how the Bush and Obama atrocities might be just what the country needs to push it over the edge and open its eyes. The Audit the Fed situation is a specific example of something in which, even the intended evil (spin, deception and avoidance on the part of the government) would likely lead to good (people continuing to get fed up with the lies and secrecy and so forth).

Let's get this done! There is no reasonable argument against an audit that should have been done from the inception of the dangerous and unconstitutional federal reserve act that was a trick from the start. It is insane how we allowed this monster to be created much less let it have secrecy and full control over monetary policy since 1913. Nice to see that the people are becoming aware of what the federal reserve actually is. Boy have we been duped. We the people must from this day forward keep our eyes and ears on the government and every piece of legislation they try to pass. They are not there to rule us. They are there to represent us. They have not done that for decades. We have ourselves to blame. We have been asleep at the wheel. Although we have been given a sleeping pill called Big Government and a false economy. All that can be should be there friday in support of this bill and Dr Paul!

"if the G-men somehow manipulate there way out of it, it will be one of the clearest examples of our government going against the clear will of the people" … I guess 95% of the population against the government spending 800 billion last September wasn't clear enough???
