Peter Schiff Makes It Official on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”

Here is the video from MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” of Peter Schiff officially announcing his bid for Senate in Connecticut. Everyone seems to be focused on his potential opponent Chris Dodd and overlooks the fact that he must win the GOP primary first. He’s not even the front runner in the primary…. yet.

    I want to know:

"Where was the Tea Party movement when the tax burden was shifted from the high end to the middle? Where were the patriots when Wall Street, backed in Congress by Senator Phil Gramm of Texas, rewrote securities laws so that the wonder boys of Lehman and A.I.G. could reduce home mortgages to poker chips at a trillion-dollar table?

Where were the angry “stiffs” when the banking industry rolled the 2005 Congress into rewriting bankruptcy law, making it easier to keep people in permanent credit card hock?

Where were they when President Bush started the bailouts, with $700 billion that had to be paid on a few days’ notice — with no debate — to save global capitalism?

They were nowhere, because they were clueless, just as most journalists were.

But now, at a time when a new president wants to reform health care to fix the largest single cause of middle-class economic collapse, he’s called a Nazi by these self-described friends of the working stiff. "

greg, you really have no idea who peter schiff, or the libertarians within the Republican party really are, do you greg? Why don't you search youtube for "end the fed", the tea parties by Ron Paul supporters, while that NeoCon Bush was in office.

and ps, if Obama gave a d-mn about reforming healthcare for the 'working stiffs', why would he help push through a bailout of those same bankrupt insurance companies?

Oh josh, so like a paultard to assume that you are a fountain of everflowing knowledge and truth to the ignorant, unwashed masses. Or do you prefer the term sheeple. I know all I need or want to know about the above. I do my homework. And much as it may come as a surprise to you, I disagree with your conclusions and solitions.

Greg, you don't seem to understand the difference between words and actions. You don't seem to understand that Obama and Bush work for the same banking elites. Bush got elected by touting free market and anti-war rhetoric. Once he got in office he did the exact opposite of what he said he would do. Obama is now taking all of Bush's policies and pursuing them even further. Bush proposes stimulus plan as did Obama. Bush likes killing brown people in foreign countries so does Obama. Bush likes the Federal Reserve inflating away the value of our currency, so does Obama. Schiff is running as a Republican, because it is almost impossible to get elected under any other party affiliation due to the grossly restrictive voting laws. Stop being a party pundit promoting the party line and become an individual. You might find your life takes on new meaning. You just might begin to think about principles rather than campaign slogans. If you're not just a Fed hired blogger that is. http://www.courant.com/news/politics/hc-web-hal-t...
