Obama has more or less dictated to America that there will be health care reform whether we like it or not. Well, those of us paying attention don’t like it one bit. Most of us agree that something must be done to make health care more affordable and thereby make it available to the huddled masses, the un-huddled rich 1%, and the semi-huddled in between. There could not be further disagreement about how we accomplish it.
Most on the Left argue from emotion:
“It doesn’t matter if it’s not Constitutional, people who are sick need help.”
Those on the Right attempt logic:
“Passing health care reform as the Democrats wish will only bankrupt America more than it already is.”
The Bill of Rights numerates our natural rights as human beings. It does not grant us rights. The last time I read the Bill of Rights I did not see any mention of health care as a natural right. In fact, access to health care is no more a right than access to food. That may be cold, but it is the truth.
Fixing health care is quite easy. Repeal the third party payer system. Allow doctor’s to practice medicine rather than having to be experts in insurance bureaucracy. Allow the doctor and patient to handle their own health decisions, payments, etc. In short, restore the free market to health care. There is no perfect system, but a little competition could go a long way to reduce costs. And when costs go down more people are covered.
The road Obama is taking us leads to rationing, waiting lists, lower salaries for doctors and nurses, and higher costs. Those higher costs will be hidden in the form of new taxes as the government subsidizes the “public” health plan. Please contact your lawmakers and demand they vote against this nonsense. The good news is, if Obama’s version of health care reform becomes law, it’s going to be a painfully obvious failure. But by then it may be too late.
I have hope that America will elect someone in 2012 who will begin the repeal of all the damage Obama is doing now and Bush did last year. There’s been some news this week regarding some liberty loving candidates running for office. Adam Kokesh announced on Freedom Watch this week that he will be running for U.S. Congress as a Republican in New Mexico. Also on Freedom Watch, Peter Schiff stated that he will run if he sees enough support in the form of monetary contributions to his exploratory committee.
Rand Paul announced that he will decide on August 20th whether he will run or not. Much of that, apparently, will hinge upon the amount of money he can raise during a money bomb scheduled that day. Let’s make sure he gets a shed-load of money.
Also, Liberty Maven contributing author, Jake Towne is running for Congress in Pennsylvania. Don’t miss the video of his excellent and inspiring speech at the Lehigh Valley tea party.
The news this week has mostly been focused on the confirmation hearings for potential Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor. At this point we can only hope that once she is confirmed she magically finds an unaltered copy of the Constitution underneath her robe. At least she is replacing Justice Souter, another quite “liberal” judge.
And now a few random thoughts, tweets, and quotes:
- Anyone see the newly minted 2010 Obama Dollar? It’s worth 5 cents and has “In Government We Trust” on it.
- Your entire income belongs to the State. Anything you get to keep is a “loophole.” – Lew Rockwell
- Chicago Tax Party Sign: I Listed The Federal Government As A Dependent On My Taxes This Year
- Maybe Obama saw a fly on that Brazilian girls ass. You know how he is about flies, too bad he didn’t swat it.
- At the Church of Obama you take money during the offering and call it your fair share.
- At the Church of Obama you don’t raise your hands in praise, you raise your taxes and like it!
- At the Church of Obama you drink the blood of the rich and eat the body of the productive.
And now some featured quotes from Calvin Coolidge that I wish Barack Obama would learn from:
- Don’t expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong. – Calvin Coolidge
- Four-fifths of all our troubles would disappear, if we would only sit down and keep still. – Calvin Coolidge
- There is no dignity quite so impressive, and no one independence quite so important, as living within your means. – Calvin Coolidge
- The right thing to do never requires any subterfuge, it is always simple and direct. – Calvin Coolidge
And my personal favorite Coolidge quote of all time:
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
Have a wonderful weekend. As Judge Napolitano says, “Stay Free!”

The ignorance of news journalist calling this country a democracy when in fact it is not. But instead that was rejected by the founders and they decided on a Republic, the rule of LAW.

That's the first time I've seen it said that Obama is "dictating" health care reform — and yet, it appears to be true. Our individual influence on our own health through our free choice is not given due consideration in this "dash" to push the bill through. A book I have recently written speaks to individual free choice in health. The title is "Soul Talk With Cells: What We Really Want Is To Play" and information is available at http://www.strategicbookpublishing.com/soultalkwi...
