Jim DeMint, “Audit the Fed” Senate Warrior Ally

Jim DeMint is taking the lead on getting an audit of the Federal Reserve in the Senate. Ron Paul’s smile tonight is measured by the fact that the Senate Democratic leadership has seen fit to block a vote on Jim DeMint adding an amendment to a spending bill that would accomplish an audit of the Fed.

Jim DeMint provides some partisan transparency of his own by effectively “auditing” the inner workings of the Senate. During his time on the floor he completely rips apart the Democrat’s double standard bullshit. This video clip is REQUIRED watching for every American in the United States. Spread it far and wide:

I love that DeMint used his time to educate as well as castigate.

This fight has just begun. Please contact your Senators and tell them that if they do not support S.604 (Senate’s version of Ron Paul’s HR.1207 to audit the Federal Reserve) you will actively campaign against them in their next election.

I am not a fan of these tactics.

Question: If the text of HR1207 had been amended to the patently unconstitutional House Spending Bill (a bill the Ron Paul and over 150 other House members voted against, even though it passed in the end) would Ron Paul have voted for it? I don't think so. It would, in that situation, be supporting legislation that clearly violates the Constitution, something we should not be advocating.

Asking Senate members to support S604 by amending it to an unconstitutional piece of legislation is not necessarily helpful. It could even make opponents out of potential allies. S604 is a Fed transparency bill, not a "end the fed" bil. It could and should be supported by many Democrats regardless of their view of the worth of the Fed or the lack thereof.

I doubt if any sponsor in the Senate would want a potentially contentious amendment tacked onto a spending bill that left the House for the Senate with a split vote.
