A lot of people seem to totally ignore the rating of the movie - whether it is intended for 15 years or over. They are rated for a REASON. If they are seeing violence all the time as youngsters, they think it is a natural part of life. If they see this violence for the first time as teenagers (15+), they already (hopefully) have the maturity to understand that it is not a "normal" and "accepted" way of life. And also, by now, they would have been made aware of and understand any/all possible consequences of the violent actions. You may say, well if you don't want your children watching these shows and playing the games then don't buy them. However, our children are mixing with other children who are exposed to these things all the time. I don't want to wrap my children up in bubble-wrap - I just want other parents to care as much and pay more attention to raising their children in a responsible manner. Perhaps we need to take a good look at the movies our children are watching and the video games they are playing.
