Ron Paul says Obama is as much of a Neo-con as Bush

In an interview by Kathleen Wells on the Huffington Post Ron Paul aims and fires at both former President Bush and current President Obama. It is this kind of brutal honesty we should demand of our Representatives.
Kathleen Wells: What are your thoughts on President Obama’s decision to release the torture memos?
Congressman Ron Paul: I think he is purely political. I think he has backed down on what he said. He was elected for change and it is the same old stuff and he is as much of a neo-con now as Bush was with this issue and other issues. The war has been expanded. He continues with not closing down Guantanamo. There is probably, for as most [sic] as we can tell, there is still secret rendition going on. We just moved some of this process overseas. We are not going to be aware of it in detail.
Kathleen Wells: You feel President Obama is a neo-con like Bush? You don’t see a distinction between the two administrations?
Congressman Ron Paul: The tone is different, but the policies don’t change. We are spreading the war. The war is expanding. We are not prosecuting those that committed torture. Guantanamo is not going to be closed down. So, no, I don’t see [a distinction between Bush and Obama].
He [Obama] increased the DOD [Department of Defense] budget. We surely could spend some of that money at home where people are really hurting. But we increased the DOD budget, I think, by 10-percent. I can’t see any significant change in foreign policy. The pretense in leaving Iraq was a mild pretense and I’m predicting that’s not going to happen. There are going to be troops in Iraq throughout this administration, I’m convinced.
That’s right people… It’s taken Barack Obama less than 6 months as President to prove beyond any doubt that the only change he represents is rhetorical. The honeymoon is over.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Go, Ron Paul. Man, I love a guy who just calls it like he sees it

Obama calls for change and doesn't change any of the important stuff like he promised…Hapeus Corpus, The Patriot Act, 16 Months in Iraq, escalating the privacy war against Americans. Instead he spends money and tries to be popular. The President is in charge of the military, period. Obama is just a liar who happens to be an incredible speaker, is just a "poser". My children and I are so embarrassed that we we're so stupid and we voted for him. I am so upset for them, their first time voting and they got lied to. The only good thing about this, is that he won by 6%. 30% of all Dems that voted for him, just because of his promises to end the war in 16 months, he's lost them. Another 20% of the Dems are also Fiscal conservatives and are outraged by the way he spends, he's lost them, so he has NO CHANCE for a second term.

I was one year ahead of Ron Paul.
I predicted Obama was another Bush when voted for the banker bailout.
Unfortunately for those of us who want more liberty, the Obama supporters are going to continue to live in this cartoon world and they'll either ignore it, find ways of justifying it, or more likely never learn about it since they never bothered to do a google search to learn about the real Obama.

I have noticed that most Obama voters that I know have taken the justify route. All of a sudden, the most leftist friends I have are now suddenly in favor of the murder and bombings taking place in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. They are also in favor of going after North Korea. It is wild to see people who went to Woodstock supporting a war.
Trust me, life never stops surprising.
Lefties are now in favor of violating privacy, a legal fiction to hold people indefinitely, don't ask don't tell, and all the other neocon positions that have blasted liberty to little tiny bits. Even gay friends of mine are justifying Obama's sudden switch to agreeing that open gays shouldn't be allowed in the military. They voted for the man simply because he stated that he would allow gays in the military. Now that he has changed that position too…. amazing.
My new question to these friends is: What did you have against Bush? (Not that I supported that monster.) These days, Obama is making it really easy for me to point out how he is exactly the same as Bush.
Although, it is difficult to have an intelligent conversation with people who don't have any real concepts beneath their prattle.

What a dumb***! Aside from being libertarian to the point of seditious, the former publisher of the "Ron Paul Freedom Report" has grown so color-blind as to compare a flawed but pro-life, pro-gun, pro-America White man with a categorically flawed and pro-abortion, anti-gun, anti-American Socialist Black Nationalist Muslim. And he think that Muslim is really expanding the fight against his cousins!! He's an idiot.
Or he's just an opportunistic liar.
PAUL: "He [Obama] increased the DOD [Department of Defense] budget. We surely could spend some of that money at home where people are really hurting. But we increased the DOD budget, I think, by 10-percent." What a hypocrite! Defense spending is Constitutional. This spending because "people are really hurting" is nothing but unconstitutional socialism.
Paul plays people with ridiculous and unrealistic promises and outrageous statements in order to build up his campaign funds. But I'd rather have him as President than that thing sitting as President now.

How much time did you spend researching the candidates before voting? I spent 12 hours online over 3 months learning about Obama and I was 90% certain he wasn't the best for the job within the first 4 hours. It's a shame that more people don't vote independent or for someone like Ron Paul- someone who has a proven record of consistency for over a decade. Keep voting with your gut America and continue to watch the middle class disolve.
