Ron Paul’s primary opponent is campaigning for Ron Paul

Jeff Cherry is Ron Paul’s 2010 Republican primary opponent. He represents precisely the kind Republican values that were just soundly defeated by Barack Obama. Cherry is a neo-conservative. He is a poster boy for all that is wrong with the Republican Party today. It turns out he’s also not quite the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to campaign strategy.

Cherry put up a web site attempting to trash Ron Paul, but one page on the site could easily be a page designed by the Paul campaign against Cherry. Perhaps the only exception would be that the design of the page is completely unpolished and unprofessional looking.

Here are a few of the things that Cherry thinks are horrible things that Ron Paul believes in, from http://www.doyouknowronpaul.com/

  1. Wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve and return to the Gold Standard (see note below)
  2. Wants to get rid of the Department of Education
  3. Wants to get rid of the IRS
  4. Voted against and does not support the Patriot Act.
  5. Voted against the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act

Surely there are Ron Paul haters within the GOP that are smarter than this? Or probably not.

NOTE: Ron Paul does not advocate returning to the “Gold Standard”. He wants to permit competing currencies which can be backed by something tangible like gold, silver, or other commodities. These currencies could compete with the fiat dollars floating around. This is a gradual approach toward sound money and away from the fiat system we have now. This is not your great-grandparent’s version of the gold standard.

From his website: "Let's teach Congress a lesson" – AHAHAHAHA!!! What lesson would that be, Jeff?
Also this gem: "Sorry, but the Survey was jammed by the Ron Paul followers." – AHAHAHAHA!!! Well Jeff, if you had any followers, they could jam right back!
Also: "and started the school districts only Global Politics program." – Hmmm, sounds like a globalist to me.
Just looking at the picture of his face, I instantly dislike and distrust him. I will have to blog about him. I agree that he isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Jeff Cherry is a clown, and a born loser. His campaign email address is on his website. I strongly suggest y'all stop by and let him know what a clown he is.

Jeff Cherry has sincere beliefs that Ron Paul supporters are unlikely to agree with. I would doubt that Ron Paul would support disparaging anybody by calling them a clown. Be professional please. Discuss and debate the issues, not the person.

I completely agree with this. Too many RP supporters are giving us all a bad name by being extremely rude and acting like general jerkasses, taking away any of our credibility.

How does a man run for Congress as a "fiscal" and "moral" CONSERVATIVE when he filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2003 and had a whopping $175,000.00 in credit card & department store card debt wiped clean? Then he takes his family to Europe on vacation???

Lemme guess, since he cannot file for bankruptcy again so soon, he's going to run for Congress and take the campaign booty & run! My guess is he's going to pay off his *new* credit card debt, and then drop out of the race, claiming that "Ron Paul Followers" ruined his bid for Congress. Fool me once…

The very NON-fiscally conservative details on his bankruptcy case are up on wikileaks: http://tinyurl.com/ryb8r6

Please. When you've helped elect half as many GOP'ers to office as I have, then and only then may you lecture me about being "professional". Calling a clown a clown isn't unprofessional… it's telling the truth.

And RP, being a good politician, may not support openly that which he is glad people do on his behalf.

Jeff Cherry is a clown. I gotta call them the way I see them. if you don't like it, stay off the internets.

Cherry is nowhere near a conservative ANYTHING. He is a moderate Democrat and has filed as such for the Primary Ballot.

He is Ron Paul's Democratic challenger, nevermind that he campaigned as a Republican and accepted donations for a year as a Republican. LOL

Comments are open on his website for WELL WISHES in his new endeavor as a DEMOCRAT.
