That being said, I believe candidates within this liberty movement should focus solely on the federal income tax and the facts behind its illegitimate existence. It's not one of those highly divisive, confusing philosophical debates that have shredded us into a stagnant two-party system. The average person, I have come to learn, does not give a damn about liberty or the constitution. Politics is about winning support by distributing benefits and somehow libertarians have missed that part. The people in power promise all kinds of benefits while libertarians talk about abstract concepts that people do not even care to understand. Lets cut the crap and get down to the issues. No benefit would be greater than keeping a large chunk of your income. I cannot even contemplate the kind economic prosperity this country could experience if we did away with the income tax and all the regulations/bureaucracy/deadweight that accompany it.
