Ron Paul completely annihilated Stephen Baldwin over legalizing drugs tonight on CNN’s Larry King with Joy Behar filling in for Larry. Baldwin’s feeble attempt at supporting keeping drugs illegal were the same old trite things we’ve been hearing for years that have been refuted time and time again.
Not surprisingly, Ron Paul truly schooled him and the audience on why the drug war is horrid, marijuana should be legal, and he did it with a smile.
I loved the fact that Behar allowed Ron Paul to speak. In fact she allowed him to speak much more than Baldwin. Perhaps it was because Baldwin had nothing new to say.
Ron Paul’s appearance and words on this show should be played in court in any federal non-violent drug case, and there’s no way anyone would side with the prosecution. That is unless that person was lying to himself (or herself).
Watch Ron Paul break it down for the defense below.
Ron Paul inspired over a million American patriots to vote for him during his run at the presidency in 2008. He did not win. Perhaps, America wasn’t quite ready for him. Perhaps, America was just not paying attention. Perhaps by 2012 we all will be paying attention.
Here is another must see video frohm the Ron Paul grassroots universe. The video is promoting ConstitutionRevolution2012.com, a site dedicated… well I’ll let the spokesperson, Iraq War Veteran Adam Kokesh tell you (found on the front of the web site above):
We are coming together to make it clear that as a movement, we are young, we are strong, we are calling for no less than a revolution, and we are not going anywhere until we get it. Consider this your muster. It is time to stand up and be counted. Almost six years ago, on March 19th, 2003, our government began the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq, a war of aggression, the worst manifestation of state power. Six years later, we will pledge our support for Ron Paul, a principled non-interventionist, to run for President of the United States of America in 2012. If he will not run, we will support whomever he deems worthy of his endorsement. Watch the video, sign up for the email list, join the facebook group, tell your friends, and come back on March 19th, 2009 to show the world there is still hope for freedom in America. ~ Adam Kokesh, Iraq War Veteran
This is yet another effort to demonstrate the popularity of the Judge’s show so that it may get on the Fox News TV channel at some point. So, please visit the new site, watch, comment, and rate the videos, then spread the site around to friends and colleagues.
On the site you will find all the show archive videos (and audio for the first show), a link to the live show, links to guests’ sites, and upcoming guest announcements.
Regular guests to the show include Ron Paul, Peter Schiff, Lew Rockwell, Cody Willard, and Tracy Byrnes.
Ron Paul was a guest on the Steve Gill show yesterday. He discussed his position on earmarks again, the financial crisis, the end of the currency, socialized medicine, and his belief that we are on the wrong path. There is not much new, but when Ron Paul speaks we liberty lovers listen.
I especially liked the portion where he discusses the ill advised efforts to pass bills quickly in the name of crisis prevention like we did after 9-11 and are doing now to “fix” the economy.
Thirty-eight new pieces of legislation were introduced into the halls of Congress yesterday. I think if I worked there, I would develop migraines quickly. Here are some of the worst:
HR1451 – To amend title 23, United States Code, to allow an exception for the weight limits for certain towing trucks. [Hmmm, strange. The last time I perused the Constitution, I don't remember the founding fathers mentioning tow trucks...]
HR236 – Urging Turkey to respect the rights and religious freedoms of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. [I think if another country stuck its nose into our business like this, we would probably be incensed.]
HR1452 – To require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to enter into negotiated rulemaking to modernize the Medicare part B fee schedule for clinical diagnostic laboratory tests and to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to adjust the fee for collecting specimens for clinical diagnostic laboratory tests under the Medicare Program. [Medicare is not only unconstitutional, but rife with fraud and a huge failure overall. And here is Congress mandating additional micromanagement of services.]
HR1450 – To amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act with respect to counterfeit drugs, and for other purposes. [The FDA kills people.]
HR1449 – To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the qualification standard for exterior windows, doors, and skylights. [The fact that the government taxes our income is constitutional (although somewouldargueotherwise), but it's clearly unethical if you regard taxation as theft. But beyond all that, isn't our tax code, which is upwards of 2.5 million pages, complicated enough already?]
Ron Paul has defended the use of earmarks to Neil Cavuto on Fox News, and explained to the U.S. House of Representatives why earmarks are a good thing. The gist of his argument was that earmarks do not increase the budget; they simply set side money already budgeted. That is, earmarks do not increase the amount of money budgeted. In addition, earmarks account for only about 1% of all the funds budgeted.
Ron Paul was elected to represent his constituents; therefore, it is his job to forward their requests for spending. However, when it comes time to vote, he consistently votes against such spending, since most of the time it is unconstitutional.
Now that the deadline has passed for House members to submit their earmark request for fiscal year 2009, Ron Paul has published his list: Read More »
On February 26, 2009, Congressman Ron Paul from Texas introduced a bill, HR 1207 titled the “Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009, which will ensure that the Fed be audited and reported to the United States congress. So far, this bill has 21 cosponsors, including … Congressman Tom McClintock. This bill has bipartisan sponsorship, and is still under review by the committee.
Let’s hope that this momentum continues and that the end result is complete success!
This week’s episode of Freedom Watch with Judge Andrew Napolitano is in the bag. This week Ron Paul, Lew Rockwell, Peter Schiff, Campaign For Liberty President John Tate, Tracy Byrnes (from FBN), and John Stossel joined the Judge for more discussion on liberty.
They discussed Obama’s plan for education, the endless bailouts, and more. John Stossel joined the show during the final minutes via telephone and discussed his upcoming special on 20/20 Friday night at 10pm EST called “Bailouts, Big Spending, and Bull.”
Ron Paul was on for the first 15 minutes or so. John Tate joined during the last half hour. Please spread the playlist below around the net. And be sure to join the Facebook “Fans of Freedom Watch” group if you haven’t already.
Watch what many are calling the liberty power hour below. All 6 parts should play in succession via the playlist here.
Your Senators and Representatives have continued to be busy little bees, always grinding the sausage. Forty-four new bills introduced yesterday:
HR230 – Recognizing the historical significance of the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo. [You've got to be kidding me. If this weren't displayed on official government sites, I would swear this was a joke.]
HR1388 – Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act: To reauthorize and reform the national service laws.
HR1415 – To provide for a demonstration project regarding Medicaid reimbursements for stabilization of emergency medical conditions by non-publicly owned or operated institutions for mental diseases.
HR1413 – To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to allow certain public employees a deduction for distributions from governmental plans for health and long-term care insurance, and for other purposes.
HR1412 – To increase public confidence in the justice system and address any unwarranted racial and ethnic disparities in the criminal process. [Looking at the full text of this bill, it's clear that the authors have the idea that justice is being served out "unfairly" with respect to race and ethnicity, and are under the mistaken impression that "unconscious bias" can be legislated away.]
“If we didn’t have $21 milk last year, we wouldn’t have $9 milk this year.” – John Kaneb
The politicians keep making big claims about how their big plans are going to achieve big results for the economy. Those tempted to believe these claims may first want to consider how well the government does with their smaller schemes. For instance . . .
Did you know that the government sets minimum prices for milk? They claim that unregulated milk prices would fluctuate wildly, but consider these wild price fluctuations . . .
The 2008 producer’s minimum price of milk approached $21 per hundredweight, about five dollars more than the cost of production. This month, it’s below $9.43, falling more than $6 in two months.
How are such wild fluctuations possible given that we have government regulations designed to prevent them?
At the same time, droughts in California escalated feed prices, increasing the cost of milk production. Now, the government’s formula for setting the “minimum price” of milk is far below the cost of production. As a result, dairy cattle are being sold for hamburger in record numbers – at a loss!
But the government’s price-fixing applies only to Grade A milk, which must be safe enough to drink. Grade B milk is safe for manufactured foods, is cheaper to produce, and has no fixed price. So . . .
