Were those homophobic comments? All he said is "He's gayer than the blazes", which is true in this case, that's no insult. If Bruno would call Ron Paul, straighter than an arrow, would that be an insult? No. It's an opinion based on judgment.
ANYONE that is offended in any way by the contents of this movie, really need to get out more and have some fun…

Hah! Ron Paul should be held accountable for his "queer" remarks to his people after he storms out! His dignity was only tarnished by his own homophobic comments. He's a big boy, and being a politician he should've known better than to react with such offensive sentiments. Sacha Baron Cohen is quite brilliant at persuading others to lower their guards and voice their honest opinions. He is the vehicle that allows the people in his films to truly open up on many subjects – whether it's Jews and women (Borat) or queers. I am a gay man and I thought this was a poignant film in its revelations about homophobia. Not in the way that so many low-budget coming out/gay-bashing sad story/boy-meets-[tragically unavailable closeted uber-conservative] boy films do on LOGO (don't get me wrong – I totally love most of those too…). This film is far-reaching; it will infiltrate the "moral" strongholds of Middle America where so many of Baron Cohen's lesser costars live. And if it had been my father or grandfather or mother or grandmother who had said some of the things in Bruno, I'd be the first to tell them that they were behaving like an ass. And I totally agree with LibertarianMike – learn to laugh already!

As for Ron Paul running away from Cohen after Cohen dropped his pants – the notion that Paul ran because he might be a "an old man" is partially true – but not because his concepts are outdated, hardly. Ron Paul is old enough to remember when a presidential candidate named Bobby Kennedy was approached by a strange guy in a hotel who began acting erratically and then shot him in the head and left him on the floor to die. Or when another presidential candidate was shot and paralyzed for life. Or when other candidates have been physically attacked. So Ron Paul encounters a random stranger who exhibits unusual interest in him, and then proceeds to act in a such a way that any reasonable person interprets as unstable – Paul would be a fool to stay, under the circumstances, and legal charges of "criminal assault" could apply here – "assault" does not require the perpetrator to physically contact the victim, but to simply act in a way that the victim perceives as threatening, and I think its reasonable to assume that any person old enough to remember RFK and others who suffered a similar fate would interpret erratic behavior like Cohen's exhibited toward a presidential candidate like Paul – as threatening. Cohen should be locked up before somebody someday doesn't understand his intentions and beats the living s#@$ out of him.

Of course he is. Each of Cohen's targets has been either right wing (Gingrich, Barr) and/or critical of Israel and/or Israel's Likud party and their foreign policy in the Palestinian territory (Paul, Chomsky, Nader, Buchanan, Trump, etc.).

Cohen's agent in Hollywood is Ari Emanuel. Ari's brother is Rahm Emanuel. Rahm is the new Chief of Staff in the White House, who once left political responsibilities in America to go to Israel and support the IDF in a military action as a contractor in the war zone supporting supply efforts.

To all the Cohen defenders, you ought to find something more worthy of defending than some jerk who appeals to the moronic masses of our society. With the state of our economy and our power hungry government taking away more and more of our rights. I fail to see the humor in any of this. Try defending the "Constitution" and help people like Dr. Paul who is trying to do just that. I have an idea if you feel you must go and see this film and blow $10, donate another $10 to Ron Paul's "Campaign for Liberty". The liberty you save may be your own.

I don't like anyone who has to embarrass or humiliate anyone else for a laugh, I did watch Borat and anyone can manipulate things to go their way, I wonder how much ended up on the cutting room floor because if it didn't make Sacha look good then it was probably cut. I will definitely use this to promote Ron Paul, and for that I am thankful to Sacha, I'm aware that he probably did not intend for this to help Ron Paul but we can make it to his atvantage anyway. I don't care how much money someone has made for being a comedian, that does not make him funny, look how much Brittany Spears has made for singing.

It sounds like Ron just used a taboo word, but not in a really offensive context. Cohen exposed himself to him, so it's not really out of line. To be honest, I'm far more upset at the fact that Paul might not believe in evolution. That sort of disturbs me. This, on the other hand, is just an old man fleeing a cock in the mouth.
