Ron Paul discusses the potential for reinstating the “Draft”

In the next installment of  “Ron Paul’s Walls”, Ron Paul discusses a quote that he has hanging on his wall from Senator Robert Taft.

He agrees with Taft in opposing the draft for individual liberty reasons.

“A compulsory draft is far more typical of totalitarian nations than of democratic nations. The theory behind it leads directly to totalitarianism. It is absolutely opposed to the ideas of individual liberty which have always been considered a part of American democracy.” -Robert Taft

Once again Ron Paul becomes the educator. He also talks bout his own experience as a young adult with respect to the draft.

One thing the Democrats and modern so-called Republicans–as opposed to traditional, Dr Paul-style real Republicans–have in common is an apparent belief that the interests of the State are always superior to those of any individual, and that it is right to compel individuals to serve those interests.

    Just a simple typo:

“The theory behind it leads to leads directly to…” should be “The theory behind it leads directly to…”

What is this hullabaloo about a draft?
    There will not be one.
This is yet another one of those fantasy scare stories along the lines of the recent assertion that the US or Israel will attack Iran, by at least inauguration day–which never happened, as well as the non-starter of the court cases that were supposed to question Obama’s birth certificate.
Having failed with these, you are going to declare a draft imminenet and assert all sorts of loony-tunes stuff based upon the speeches of the chief looney, Ron Paul.
    Will you never learn?
