These are the times that try free market souls. Ron Paul has been warning us of the collapse that is unfolding before our eyes. Day after day the economic news is bad. We are living in a speck of history that will be known to future generations as “The Bailout Age”.
It’s not supposed to be like this, we say. America was built on the fear of failure not the removal of it from our consciousness. When you fail you learn. When you reward failure you lose. We aren’t just losing. We are getting our asses handed to us. However, this is a kinder and gentler version of losing. The government is here to help you softly toward your demise. Embrace ignorance, it is your salvation.
Timothy Geithner was just confirmed as our newly beloved and all-powerful Treasury Secretary. He is a man who failed to pay over $34,000 in taxes due to “careless mistakes”. I suppose he has other credentials, but why in our time of economic distress do we put this man in charge of the Treasury? Embrace ignorance, it is your salvation.
Apparently, most Americans these days blame the lack of regulation for our financial woes. Can someone please cite exactly what deregulation occurred that caused what we are now experiencing? This is like those that say supporting NAFTA means supporting “free trade”. Why do you need to write up a document to implement “free” trade? If it is truly free trade shouldn’t it be unencumbered by rules and regulations? Embrace ignorance, it is your salvation.
We have entered “The Bailout Age”. The soup line in front of government’s door is growing day by day. What more do we expect from a new administration that believes the only possible solution must be administered from government. Yet the government is not profitable. It doesn’t earn money. It either prints it or steals it from those of us who work for a living. Embrace ignorance, it is your salvation.
Ron Paul was ostracized, ridiculed, bullied, and laughed at like the nerdy, emaciated, spectacled boy sitting by himself at the corner table in the high school cafeteria. Yet he was the only one of the presidential candidates who knew America was in a recession almost a year before it was confirmed.
Aren’t you tired of embracing ignorance? I know I am. I want my salvation to come from my own freewill, not through the force of government.
Embrace liberty, reject ignorance.

Guantanamo Bay is a World issue now.
The laws that were created by the Bush administration to “Legalize” the Guantanamo Bay detention camp & the “Enhanced Interrogation” techniques that were being perfected there will be rescinded. The people that created those laws will not be able to hide behind them.
That administration will be facing charges in the International courts, & President Obama will NOT be obstructing those proceedings.
I have had a letter “printed” in my local “paper”! If you agree with the concept of Canada taking over the responsibility of holding the prisoners of Guantanamo Bay
send a note to a Canadian paper.
You could also send a note to the White House inviting them to consider choosing one of the 9 Labradoodle puppies that are now in our rescue shelter, to join the Obama family.
Please feel free to reprint & share this note.
Editor,
The Winnipeg Humane Society’s offer to give President
Obama & his family “pick of the litter” is a wonderful
idea. Accepting a Canadian Labradoodle puppy from us,
would make a fine symbol of good will between our two
Countries, & I hope they accept the offer.
Canada should do more than this.
President Obama has declared that the Guantanamo Bay
detention camp will be closed permanently. We would
go a long way to restoring our tarnished reputation in the World, by taking the initiative & offering to hold not just the Canadian born 15 year old boy that has been forced to grow up under such dehumanizing conditions, but any of the other detainees that have never been charged with any crimes as well.
Canada should take on the responsibility of holding these
prisoners with dignity, until the World decides what to do with these helpless victims of the Bush administration.
In recognition of our soon to be constructed National Human Rights Museum, I would recommend that Manitoba would be the right Province to harbor these men & begin the healing process for everyone.
