Ron Paul on Israel Invading Gaza and the Prospects of 2012

Ron Paul is not one to beat around the bush (no pun intended), and his reaction to Israel invading Gaza in this video is no different. He calls the Middle East a powder keg and says the United States will ultimately be blamed due to support of Israel.
He believes that we should just get out of their business and focus on the problems here at home. I could not agree with him more (as usual).
He also delves into a bit of an economic prediction for 2009. He says inflation is what we need to worry about, not deflation. Also, his big worry is that fairly soon people (other countries) will no longer finance America’s debt.
“The victims will be the innocent American people.”
“The real tragedy will be an attack on our personal liberties.”
I’m starting to believe that Ron Paul will feel compelled to run for president again in 2012. Especially if what he is predicting comes to pass. I wrote following the Iowa Caucus and the New Hampshire Primary that America is not ready for Ron Paul in 2008. Perhaps America will be ready in 2012.
Digest Ron Paul’s words below. The words my give you indigestion, but sometimes the truth is uncomfortable.

Hello Marc,
It’s been a while since I’ve written and I hope this New Year finds you and your family in relatively good spirits.
As you mention, it’s sometimes hard to listen to Ron Paul, but not once you realize he speaks the truth. With Israel’s recent and massive assault against Palestine, I am personally trying to gain a more in-depth perspective. Long ago I stopped relying upon the customary journalist outlets to acquire a broader understanding of events, and once again in my quest for truth regarding Israel and Palestine I turned to the Internet
You and your readership may or may not be aware of the following website: http://www.ifamericansknew.org/history/
This site provides a great deal of information regarding the issues facing both Israel and Palestine, information that helped me to gain a better understanding and I hope will also help your readership.
What baffles me is why the U.S. remains complicit in Israeli violations of both U.S. domestic and international law through continual provisions of military aid. Israel’s attack violated U.S. Law…specifically the Arms Export Control Act, which prohibits U.S. arms from being used for any purposes beyond a very narrowly-defined set of circumstances: use inside a country’s borders for self defense purposes. I don’t think the Gaza assault meets this criterion. Does this mean that U.S. government officials were aware of the violations?
I obviously don’t have the answers…I will continue to look to Ron Paul’s truthful assessment. More study is not only a requirement…It’s our duty!
Hope to hear from you,
Regards,
Donna

Donna,
Thanks for the link.
As far as violating U.S. law… well I don’t see why we would hold Israel accountable for U.S. law when we ignore it so effectively here at home. Is the Constitution even relevant anymore other than for political lip service?
Enjoy,
Marc

I don’t disagree with you as far as violating U.S. law or even international law for that matter. But, the escalation in Gaza will make it nearly impossible for any serious Israeli/Palestinian negotiations, and I don’t see how life can continue with the apartheid wall and checkpoints crippling movement, commerce and ordinary life across the West Bank. Even before the current military assault, the siege of Gaza created a humanitarian catastrophe.
If not law to hold people accountable, I guess we’ll get what we deserve…WAR!
