The Next Ron Paul, Gary Johnson Confirms Interest In 2012 Presidential Run

Those of us in Ron Paul withdrawal and excited at the prospect of former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson running for President in 2012, received some good news today. According to Charles Frohman writing on the Gary Johnson 2012 Facebook group, Johnson is interested in running. Frohman writes:

I met with Gary for a couple hours at his new mansion in Taos, New Mexico, and got confirmation of his interest in running for the 2012 presidency. Like Dr. Paul, the former Governor is a big believer in vetoing unconstitutional laws, and doing everything to allow individuals to pursue their happiness in most any way. Progressives should like his tolerance for alternative lifestyles, and conservatives should like his high standards for govt efficiency and support for local innovative govt solutions.

I suppose it is a bit early to start planning the first Johnson Money Bomb, but this is great news for us Ron Paul liberty lovers looking for a candidate in 2012. There is a lot of time between now and 2012, but this certainly provides hope for the future. In the meantime there is much work to be done with the upcoming 2010 election year. As Wendell Phillips reminds us, “Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty”.

Until then, why not show your support for Johnson by joining the Gary Johnson 2012 Facebook group. As of this writing the group is up to 88 members. You can read more about my assessment of Gary Johnson here.

For those of you wondering who the “Charles Frohman” is in the above update, he’s a former Cato Institute Associate Government Affairs Director whose main hobby (teaching kundalini yoga) takes him to the state of former Governor Johnson periodically. So, earlier this year, I asked and Gary agreed for me to come over and get to know each other. Gary confirmed his interest in running in 2012, and I shared my interest in helping him make that a reality. I can be reached at, for any questions or comments.

There is only one Ron Paul.

He has gained 100% of our trust with his decades of speaking up for the American citizens and following the Constitution with his perfect voting record.

He was the one who woke up the formerly apathetic and disenfranchised with his message.

The “Next” Ron Paul does not exist.
It’s a once in a lifetime type of phenomenon.

Some may come really close in a lot of ways, like Gary Johnson or B.J. Lawson or Chuck Baldwin, but I can tell you right now that they will never measure up.

That said, I’m really impressed with Gary Johnson’s anti-War on Drugs stance. That’s a real deal-maker or breaker, as it is the cause of a lot of civil liberty thefts and a powerful precursor to a police state.

Perhaps a better title would be “In the Footsteps of Ron Paul.” I even wouldn’t mind the term “Ron Paulian Candidate.” If the candidate takes offense to either title, then he’s lacking humility (a key Ron Paul element) and refusing to give credit where credit is due.

P.S. Former-CIA-Barr’s V.P. of choice Wayne Allen Root’s boast that he was “Ron Paul on Steroids” was so obnoxious and nauseating that I’m still reeling from the audio and visual stench from hearing him say that.

Well first off we should not be looking for the next Ron Paul. Simple because every single presidential election. Now I love Ron Paul I think he's not only a great politician, but I think he's a great person to. Why because Ron Paul has being married to the same women for over 50 years and now a days in Washington that's pretty hard to find. You see now the reason why I think Ron Paul is a great politician is as simple as this he's loyal to what he believes in. And what he believes in is right it's good. Now I'm not a loyal member of the Ron Paul cult mainly, because although I don't support Iraq I still do not agree with a lot of what he says when it comes to foreign policy. Simple because I think we should a large powerful military with nukes,a million troops, and a missile defense system, because if we have these will never need to use them. Yet I do agree with him on this getting rid of all federal drug laws, ending the war in Iraq, abolishing the Federal Reserve, going back to the Gold Standard, getting rid of the income tax,Social Security,Welfare and Medicare,Department of Education,Commerce, the DEA,Energy, and Federal regulation.

Now if he were to die I would get really sad, because it would be like losing one of the greatest men in the history of Congress. Yet I am happy to say that Gary Johnson is there for 2012. Now I'm still not sure if I'll vote for him in the primaries yet he's so far one of my favorites. Now Johnson has to start building up momentum for 2012 now if he wants to win a single state in the primaries. And he does have a lot of experience as a business owner and as one of the best governors in the US. So I really hoping for someone like Johnson and Paul for 2012 to kick that Socialist obama out of Washington.

Sorry, but there is NO "the NEXT RON PAUL" There is only ONE man like that, and I have met Ron Paul, and he IS THE MAN for this job – no one else (yet).

He also drives a BUICK and Mr. Johnson here (who I also have met at the Republican Convention in Ocean City, Maryland) lives in a freakin MANSION??? Give me a break, people! WAKE UP! DON'T BE PAWNED OFF! Johnson is bland and has no conviction for the things he says. The war on drugs is SO important, but he makes it more of an issue than ANY THING else, and Paul has a step-by-step, very systematic plan for restoring freedom and stability to this nation! Anyone else who does not follow that plan and backs it will cause further dismantling of our society.
