Even if Barack Obama had been born in Kenya (indisputably to an American mother), he would be entitled to U.S. citizenship, BY BIRTH, by reason of his mother's citizenship. Even if his mother and step-father registered him, while a minor, as an Indonesian citizen under Indonesian law, this act can not deprive him of his natural born U.S. citizenship. Children born outside of the U.S., one parent a U.S. citizen and the other a foreign national, are entitled, upon reaching 21 years of age, to choose their citizenship and national allegiance. This is not a naturalization process. There is no testing or oath required - only a renunciation of any foreign allegiance. They are U.S. citizens by birth.

As the official public records show Barack Obama to have been born on U.S. soil, he never had that choice put to him. But is there any doubt what his choice would be?
