We The People Foundation Brings Federal Lawsuit to Stop AIG Bailout

While many of us do know that  the U.S. Government lacks the Constitutional authority for a loan of this nature, the general population does not.  Fortunately for us, there is Bob Schulz, who on the day following the 221st anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, filed a federal lawsuit in United States District Court in Albany seeking to halt the execution of the emergency bailout of American International Group, Inc. (AIG) by the United States Government and the Federal Reserve.

The lawsuit does not mince any words or pull any punches, as it not only demands that the Government produce evidence of its legal authority to commit public funds for such a purpose, as well as emergency and permanent injunctions halting the bailout transaction, but also includes each and every single one of the culprits as defendants: the Federal Reserve System, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanki, the U.S. Treasury, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson Jr. and the United States Government itself. None of the criminal accomplices are left immune from prosecution.

I, for one, am very encouraged to see that, in this era of compromised morality and an eroding sense of fiscal responsibility within our country, that there is an individual with the backbone and the strength of character to hold the government accountable not only for this latest transgression, but for “decades of constitutional violations by the Federal  Government”.
