Those still following Ron Paul and his band of patriots may already know who Adam Kokesh is. He was one of the more inspirational speakers at the Revolution March on July 12th. He is also a vocal and active member of the organization known as Iraq Veterans Against The War (IVAW). IVAW has been embraced by the anti-war movement and judging from the reaction Kokesh received from the Ron Paul faithful during the Revolution March it is no surprise that IVAW certainly sits well with liberty loving Constitutionalists as well.
Listening to popular financial help talk radio program today a woman called in with a request for help for a friend. Her friend’s husband was killed in Iraq two months ago. Her friend’s five children are now without a father. I became suddenly angry and shouted out of my rolled down car window, “THIS DIDN’T HAVE TO HAPPEN! WHY?” Over the past few weeks whenever I think of our occupation of Iraq I can’t help but recall standing amongst fellow freedom lovers listening to Adam Kokesh speak with pure raw passion against it. The radio show caller’s story started me thinking of Kokesh again.
War affects so many. More than 4000 of our American military families now have to endure life without their fathers, brothers, sisters, mothers, aunts, uncles, and friends. That is a lot of broken hearts. Adam Kokesh is working to bring our troops home to end the madness. He has his own blog dubbed “Revolutionary Patriot” and it is a great read. In one article he talks about arguing with a fellow IVAW member about Ron Paul.
In a discussion I had recently with a fellow IVAW member about a potential alliance with Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty to protest at the Republican National Convention, he said that he opposed the alliance because Ron Paul “doesn’t oppose the war for the same reasons we do.” That statement was either shamefully ignorant and presumptuous, or a deliberate lie. Ron Paul seems to be such a threat, (or at least was) that people are stooping to new lows to discredit him.
The lines in bold are IVAW’s ten “official” reasons for opposing the war. Each is followed by a quote from the Congressman and the source.
1. The Iraq war is based on lies and deception.
“The war in Iraq was sold to us with false information.”

“But if the warmongers’ goal is to have a war, regardless of international law and the Constitution, current policy serves their interests.”

Kokesh goes right on down the list defending Ron Paul’s anti-war position with quotes from the man himself. Kokesh’s youthful exuberant activism should be emulated. He fought in Iraq for our so called “freedom”. These days he’s fighting a more principled war at home for our liberty.
Here is Kokesh commenting on his speech at the Revolution March with a friend. Also check out his other videos at his YouTube channel.
