They perceive him as the only alternative to the Bush policies. Never mind that Obama is very statist; they just see no other alternative even if they have libertarian tendencies because they are so disgusted with the Middle East situation. All the media perpetuates this; and in reality there are only a couple "third party" candidates that will end the war AND restore a sense of liberty - and neither Obama nor McCain are even close... But, the next generation doesn't learn this. Sigh… and I have a number of young people who report to me – all of them (without exception) are voting for Obama.
