Like Ron Paul, Bob Barr Wants To Get Rid Of The Fed [Video]

The Bob Barr campaign posted an issue video (one of many) on the official web site regarding the economy. The economy is the most important issue for me. It is one of the reasons I support Ron Paul. Here, Bob Barr sounds like Ron Paul (again) on the role of the Federal Reserve. He points out that the economy was strong prior to the creation of the Fed. He calls for getting rid of The Fed. He mentions that it is an unelected organization. If somehow Bob Barr wins the White House, I’d wager all I have that Ron Paul would be offered a high ranking position in the administration. Watch Bob Barr on the American Economy in the video below.

Ron Paul has refused to officially endorse either Barr or Baldwin(Constitution Party) but he has said good things about both. I’ve read that it is an FEC violation for him to endorse another candidate unless he has dropped out. So he will either do that following the convention or not do it due to his close kinship with both Barr and Baldwin. He may endorse both of them, who knows.

Root was VP because after the Barr campaign determined that Mary Ruwart wasn’t interested in being VP, they made a strategic decision to go to Root. Root then endorsed Barr for the nomination and the majority of his delegates then voted for Barr instead of Ruwart (although 25% did vote for Ruwart). So, in a way, Barr was forced into having Root as his running mate. Also, my preference for his running mate (Steve Kubby) almost beat Root for the VP nod even after the back scratching endorsements between Barr and Root.

In my mind Root is somewhat of a liability that Barr will have to overcome. At least he isn’t on the top of the ticket, which is where most of the attention will be (at least from the media). The best thing that can be said for Root is that he seems to be open minded and willing to listen to criticism.

    Enjoy,
    Marc
