You hate Ron Paul and his kook supporters. You are tired of seeing their messages inundating blogs everywhere he gets mentioned. Your eyes are filled with fiery anger as you see Ron Paul videos constantly near the top rankings on YouTube. You love burying Ron Paul articles on Digg.com. Nothing gives you more pleasure than labeling him a racist and supporter of the 9-11 truth movement to denigrate him in the eyes of all. You believe his foreign policy is dangerous to America and you have an unabashed fear that with him in the White House “islamic jihadists” will invade our country and turn it into what Iraq looks like today.
The Ron Paul Rider has completed his journey across the United States spreading the freedom message of Ron Paul. He arrived at his destination: The Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. yesterday. He toured DC yesterday and posted several pictures on his blog.
I never got a chance to meet him as I hoped I would. Christmas time and family took precedent over Ron Paul. Below is a picture from Michael’s blog of him in front of the White House. I salute you Ron Paul Rider. You are and always will be remembered by me as a defender of liberty and freedom. As I’ve said before, you are a true Ron Paul hero.
Ron Paul is interviewed via phone on FOX News today following the news of Benazir Bhutto’s death by suicide bomber in Pakistan. As usual he is the voice of reason and calm.
Ron Paul will be speaking at the 2008 Liberty Forum in New Hampshire, sponsored by the Free State Project. He has a speech lined up during the closing ceremony on Sunday, January 6th.
When I tell people that I didn’t vote for George W. Bush in 2000, people automatically assume that I voted for Al Gore. Similarly, when I tell them I didn’t vote for Bush in 2004, John Kerry is the assumption. The general public didn’t even know that a Libertarian was running in those elections. I’d venture to say that many people don’t even know what a “libertarian” is. This culture of thought is changing thanks to Ron Paul.
I’ve heard the word “libertarian” in the main stream media more than I’ve ever heard it before. While most in the media use it as an attack to marginalize Ron Paul, little do they know that they are helping libertarian ideas flourish. Indeed, Ron Paul’s libertarian ideas are being exposed to people who probably had no idea that their own matching beliefs had a name. The better Ron Paul does in the primaries the stronger the Libertarian party will be in 2008.
Many of the new politically active Ron Paul supporters will need a place to call home if Ron Paul doesn’t get the GOP nomination. It is likely, most of them will find a home in the Libertarian party. Even if they don’t “join” the Libertarian Party they will be pushing for Ron Paul’s brand of libertarianism into the Republican party. In the end you will either have a reformed GOP with a libertarian slant, or a much more prevalent Libertarian Party. Either result is a big win for liberty.
It’s a bit premature to be looking at the silver lining in the “Ron Paul didn’t win” cloud. After all, he could “shock the world” and prove that the scientific polls mean nothing. If the polls prove to be correct and Ron Paul does not get the Republican nomination we libertarians will look back at Ron Paul’s candidacy as a Christmas gift to us.
For now it is more important to give Ron Paul a gift. A gift of your effort to spread his message of freedom, prosperity, and peace to voters everywhere. After all, the only thing better than a stronger Libertarian Party or a Republican Party with a libertarian slant is to actually have a liberty minded individual like Ron Paul in the White House.
These 3 Ron Paul video endorsements just prove that his supporters are a varied lot. First there Barry Goldwater Jr., son of Barry Goldwater. Next is Adam Curry, who used to be a VJ on MTV and has taken podcasting to a new level. It is said he has over 500K listeners. Lastly, there is Donna D’errico of Baywatch fame lending her support of Ron Paul.
