Getting these signatures was a true grassroots effort and my fellow Virginian Ron Paul supporters should be commended.

Paul supporters collect 5,000 more signatures than Mitt Romney to guarantee spot on February 12 primary ballot

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Tomorrow, the Ron Paul 2008 campaign will turn in 20,000 signatures to guarantee a place on the state’s February 12 GOP primary ballot.

The 20,000 signatures are 5,000 more than Mitt Romney turned in, and double the 10,000 signatures required for a place on the ballot.

“Virginia has rallied to Dr. Paul’s message of freedom, peace and prosperity,” said campaign spokesman Jesse Benton.

The signatures will be turned in Thursday at the Board of Election building located at 200 North 9th Street in Richmond.
