Nothing I can say about this recently enacted legislation in my home state of Virginia that isn’t said in this article in the Washington Post.
Horrible law. Yet another example of unintended consequences not recognized.

Let’s make the case for Ron Paul being a wacko isolationist first…
First let’s define what an isolationist is:
isolationist: one who practices a foreign policy which combines a non-interventionist military policy and a political policy of economic nationalism (protectionism). More specifically, a non-interventionist foreign policy is where heads of state avoid entangling alliances with other nations and avoid all wars not related to direct territorial self-defense. Protectionism is the belief that there should be legal barriers to prevent trade and cultural exchange with people in other states. (According to Wikipedia)
So is Ron Paul both a non-interventionist and a protectionist? Let’s do some research…

Good article about one of the “things you probably don’t know about Ron Paul”.
This article is about an event where Ron Paul presented overdue medals to 24 veterans. He didn’t even mention he is running for President because “it didn’t seem appropriate.”

Chances are pretty slim for Ron Paul to gain the GOP nomination. Because of this I often ask myself what happens next? What will be the lasting legacy of his campaign?

According to the statistics in reports filed with the Federal Election Commision Ron Paul leads all other GOP candidates in donations from the Military.
As an anti-war candidate this tells us a lot.
